I walk the halls of the Volturi castle alone. My father awaits me in the throne room. Not looking forward to being scolded, I drag my feet. I was not properly dressed as the "Princess of Volturi" should be, but I know that's not all he has to be mad at me for. Every day for 19 hours Alec, Jane, and I practice my talents. It's only rarely I am allowed to sleep, so I skip practice sometimes. He will give me the same "It's very important that you are powerful so I can use you to defeat all my enemies" speech again. Of course that's not exactly what he will actually say. He would never be that blunt.
As I approach the door to the throne room, my heart beat quickens. I slowly pull the huge doors open. My father, Marcus, and Caius sit in their thrones and wait for me to walk to the center of the room. Felix closes the door behind me. Great I'm trapped. I spot Jane and Alec to the left of me. Knowing that they are the reason I am here, I shoot them a dirty look."I understand that you didn't attend practice today. Why is that? I thought we had a discussion about why this was crucial." Aro looked up from his throne with an angry expression.
"My apologies Father. I was attempting to catch up on sleep. With all the extra training, I get tired a lot easier." I look at the floor trying not to look him in the eye.
"Thea you must remember that you will be a leader of the Volturi very soon. You will be sitting up here in your own throne with all of us." He makes his way over to me and places his hands on my shoulders.
I dread the day that I will tell him I am leaving. I can't even imagine how furious he will be.
"I love you, darling. That is why we have set a date for your official joining of the Volturi," he claps, "Jane, Alec, and I have been discussing the progress you've been making in the past 36 years and we've decided that you are ready. Three weeks from today you will be given your necklace in front of thousands of our allies. We need them to see that we have someone as special as you."
"Three weeks from today?! Father I don't think I am ready... I mean I have six talents. They aren't all perfected yet."
"You will do as I say Thea. That's the end of it. Your shield is impenetrable, visual projection is clear, elemental manipulation need a little work but is still great, hypnotic vision is way too good, Pathokinesis is fine, and your tracking is truly amazing. I don't see what you have to be worried about. I also expect you to preform a song or two after the ceremony."
"Yes Sir. Of course. May I be excused?"
"Yes you may."
I quickly existed the throne room and made my way across the castle. Heidi would bring in some unfortunate people in about an hour, so I had time to work on a song. My father makes me feed on them even though I can sustain myself on human food. It's not that I don't perfer blood. I feel them dying. The pain. The fear. Knowing that I am taking the life of someone who has a family that cares about them. I wonder how that feels, to truly be loved.
*Flashback 3rd person POV*
Heidi had just brought home a meal for her coven. Eleazar, whoes power is to find talented humans or immortals, runs to stop Aro from sinking his teeth into a woman's neck.
"Aro stop! She posseses muliple talents!" Eleazar screamed.
"What do you mean "multiple talents?" Caius spoke.
"She is a sheild and has great influence over the actions of others." Aro considers this information for a moment.
"I guess it would be quite wasteful to kill her, but I do not wish to change her. Hmmm. Marcus do you think it would be possible to have a child half me and half her?"*Flashback ends*
That's how I was created.
