At first it was just some fun but then you fell  for the psychotic man who murdered your traitorous friend, it was just easier to be with the man who wanted no competition while searching for the same treasure. It seems as things will become increasingly complicated though as you've had enough of his madness and someone else comes into the picture.

I angrily stomp up the stairs leading to the front door of my home, my large heels tapping loudly on the granite stairs and the bottom of my dress trailing behind me. I shove my small clutch bag under one arm when I reach the door, the outdoor lights are on meaning he's home and it just makes me angrier.

"Rafe?!" I shout heading through the door and closing it loudly behind me, waiting for a few seconds in silence I get no response.

Library I think knowing he's always lounging around in there when he's free, without me too even though he's looking over plans we made. I don't waste anymore time and bound for the large marble staircase, heading up trying to keep my anger inside until I come face to face with him I chew my bottom lip as a distraction.

Swiftly moving down the hallway past all the other rooms I hear a light chatter, then some laughter and clench my jaw furious he's here having a good time without me. I see the door is slightly ajar and throw it the rest of the way open speaking loudly as I enter the room not caring about what I may interrupt.

"It's the one damn night I asked you to show up and you fucking blew me off! I'm really fucking tired of being second best to a sheet of goddamn paper." I shout and my eyes find him across the room as I make a scene.

Rafe just rolls his eyes putting his drink down on the table he's stood beside, on the other end is a stranger I don't really want here but it looks like he's meeting me this way. "Ugh, do you have to shout so loudly?" he finally asks after I glare at him for long enough.

"Oh, you want it louder? I'm really fucking mad right now." I state.

"I can see but you should calm down, especially when we have a guest." he tries his best to smile but it just comes off as rude like I should try and behave myself, throwing my clutch onto one of the cream couches I walk closer to him. "Guest or no guest, I will get mad about this situation no matter what" I tell him "because this was the last straw and you knew it."

"You look beautiful tonight-"

"Don't bother!" I interrupt him feeling tears in the corner of my eyes "you find yourself someone else to screw around with because this is done..." turning to the stranger who's eyes are wide as he watches the scene before him, I take a quick look at him and nod "nice to meet you, despite the circumstances."

Clearing his throat he nods "uh, right back at you"

Rafe looks to me with guilty eyes "I think we should speak outside for a moment-" he turns to the stranger "Sam, if you'll excuse me I have a psychotic girlfriend to deal with."

"Ex-girlfriend." I correct crossing my arms, turning around I bound from the room hearing his soft footsteps behind me. I step out into the hall and don't wander too far from the door when I hear it close, this is when the real him comes out and I'm more than ready.

Rafe grabs my shoulder turning me around to face him, he's emotionless as usual but his voice holds all the anger as he spits the words through his teeth. "Attempt to show me up like that again in front of someone and it will be the last thing you ever do." his fingers dig into the bare skin of my shoulder.

"Cut the bullshit empty threats" I shrug his hand off "I don't even get why we bothered calling this a relationship, working together is the only damn thing we have in common." I breathe.
