I remembered I was in High School nung tanungin ako nila ako nung question na yun.

"What do you look for in a guy?"

Wala yung teacher namin and we decided to play Truth or Dare. I chose truth, simply because i want to. Wala naman masama dun, di ba? And being the most popular, everyone waited for my answer.

Ngumiti muna ko sa lahat ng boys na hinihintay that I describe them. Kapal lang nila. Never pa akong nag ka boyfriend because no one reached my standards.

"I want a boy with brown eyes, brown hair, medyo chinito, may muscles, of course, matalino, rich, should be around 6'1, moreno. Yun lang siguro. Ah! Tyaka magaling kumanta. He doesn't need to know how to play instruments naman, just knows how to sing."

Ngiti ko sa kanilang lahat. I know that they did not expect that specific description. Ee, tinanong nila ako, so, naturally I would answer the kung ano talaga gusto ko.

"Napaka specific mo naman, Bry."

"You asked me, I answered. Anyone who doesn't reach my standards won't have a chance with me."

And I wish na hindi ko sinabi ang lahat na yon.

I ate my words nang dumating siya.

He did not have brown eyes. He had black.

He did not have brown hair. He had black.

Hindi siya chinito. Tarsier pa nga ang tawag ko sa kanya.

Wala rin syang muscles. Payatot nga tawag ko sa kanya e.

Hindi siya matalino. He barely passed the classes we had.

He was not rich. Minsan nga nahihirapan pa siya magbayad ng tuition fee.

Hindi siya 6'1. He was barely 5'7.

Hindi sya moreno. He was pale.

And he did not know how to sing. Natawa pa nga ako the first time he sang for me while he played the guitar. He is a genius when it comes to playing instruments though.

Hindi ko naman siguro kinain ang sinabi ko.

I said "who doesn't reach my standards"

He exceeded my standards.

Hindi ko akalin na sa kanya ako mai inlove.

He is an imperfectly perfect person.

We have an imperfectly perfect love.
