The car ride was just like all the other ones. Long and awkward. Especially because I didn't know this social worker. My old one, Maggie, moved to hell knows where. So I was stuck with this woman, who honestly smells like cat pee. She told me her name but I didn't remember it. Her car was more expensive then Maggie's but again that scent. Ew.
They said this one seems different but then again, when don't they say that. I watched as we drove through the tree infested Connecticut with my ear buds in, listening to some over played pop shit. I preferred fall out boy but "it was to aggressive for a girl like me" as the social worker put it, and it was all deleted without my consent. Gone forever.
We started pulling into a more populated area and I saw a school and a small shopping area, and a.. a.. a BOOKSTORE. My social worker saw my excitement and a smirk crawled on her face. "What" I said as she continued on. "Oh it's nothing" she said with a giggle. I don't think I've ever heard a grown woman giggle and, I don't think I want to again.
We continued through this cute town which also included an ice cream shop, a small diner, a pool, and a shopping mall with a movie theater. The town was so perfect why haven't I been here before. Oh that's, right because I've been stuck in foster homes for the last 5 years.
My thoughts are interrupted by a 'we're here' by the person next to me. I looked up at yellow house with white windows and a white door. Flowers were everywhere. Roses, petunias, and daises. So many colors. Considering my outfit, which consisted of black skinny jeans, a white and grey stripped shirt and black converses lets just say color isn't my thing.
I decide to get out of the car as well as the social worker. She goes up to the door and knocks. After a few second of shuffling and yells, a woman looking in her mid thirties opens the door with a big smile on her face.
The first thing i notice is the smell. It smells like a bakery but I'm not complaining. As we are welcomed in to the house I hear a man's voice talking to someone. And as I walk into what I think is the living room I see two little blonde boys and a girl with long blonde hair and a extensive amounts of makeup. "I'm Laurie and these is the twins Justin and Jacob" Laurie said pointing at the little boys. "This is Zoe" she said motioning to the girl. "You two are the same age" I internally groaned. "And this is my husband Keith" Laurie said going over and wrapping a hand around his waist. "I'm Cleo" I said feeling sort of awkward. Zoe rolled her eyes and looked over at her parents. "Can I go now I'm supposed to Skype with Noah in a few minutes" she said with that annoying high pitched voice I imagined her having. "After we show Cleo her room" Laurie said reassuringly. Jacob and Justin's eyes widened as soon as Laurie said that. They started to run up the stairs but were stopped by the strong words of there father. I walked up the stairs to be greeted by a bathroom right across from the stairs. I saw the group huddled around a door which I was assuming was my room. As I walked toward the room, with all of there eyes on me I suddenly felt weird about this. I decided to open the door and saw blue everywhere. More exactly a rain drop blue with many accents of black and white. It was a pretty bedroom. There was an en suite bathroom which was great considering I was new too this family. The crowd had left which gave me time to put away some of my stuff. They had put an iHome alarm clock next to my bed so I quickly plugged my phone into it, thankfully it was the right one for my iPhone 6 that I had gotten in my last home. I saw a book shelf next to a tall dresser and put the few books I had into it, awaiting my next visit to the bookstore in town. And i plopped down onto the bed and drifted of to sleep.(A/N)Hey people its Emma. If you are reading this thanks so much!!!!! I know its short but I made sure it was over 700 words.
