The rest of the week went by in a blur and finally, it was Friday.
We were now seated in the back desk of Room 108, patiently waiting for the class to end. Mr. Reid went on a vacation and gave us an extension on the project.
"Hey Paige!" A girl yelled out from the left side of the room, waving to get her attention.
"Hey Brandy, what's up?" Paige turned slightly in her seat to face the girl and removed her hand from my grip, only to place it on my knee.
"My brother is throwing this big party tonight and apparently everybody is going to be there. So do you want to come? You too, Landon!" The cheery girl directed her attention to me and Paige turned back around and her eyes met mine.
"I'm fine with whatever you want, Paige." I shrugged, trying to wager her expression. Did she want to go? I know she wasn't the drunken-girl-at-parties type.
"What time?" Paige called to the girl across the room without turning away from me, her hand caressing my knee.
"8!" The girl clapped her hands together and directed her attention to her phone.
"We don't have to go, obviously." Paige moved to rest her head on my shoulder and I lifted my hand to play with her long hair.
"Ah, but 'everybody is going to be there'" I mimicked the girls high voice and Paige erupted in giggles.
"I don't drink," she mumbled after her laughing fit.
"Neither do I." I sighed and she lifted her head to look up at me.
"We might as well make an appearance, since we are, of course, the talk of the school." Paige said into my neck, inhaling deeply.
"Are we now?" I asked, giving her a sideways glance. I noticed people staring when we walked by, but I never thought our relationship would be the gossip highlight.
"Oh, most definitely." Paige nodded her head and snuggled in closer to me as I pulled her waist.
The bell finally rang and chatter began immediately. I was ready to go home and take a nap.
"Are we meeting back at my house?" I questioned as Paige and I walked to the parking lot, making our way through the seas of students.
"Unless you don't want me to." She spoke when we neared our cars.
I turned and gave her a stern look before rolling my eyes at her.
She smiled slightly and reached up to kiss me on the cheek before heading to her car.
I pulled out of my spot and drove quickly down the highway and turned on the 'P' playlist and wondered when Paige got the chance to make her own playlist in my car.
Stopping for gas, I walked in the convince store as the tank filled up. I picked up some Swedish Fish and a Big Gulp. Paying the man, I tried to get out of there as fast I could.
When I pulled into my driveway, Paige's car was already there and I cursed myself for making her wait. I noticed that she didn't get out of her car when I pulled up like she normally does, so I walked over to the drivers side and laughed at what I found.
Paige was fast asleep with her arms crossed over her chest.
I popped open the door, crouched down and gently smoothed her hair on her head, trying to ease her out of her sleep.
"Thank goodness you're here, this seat is so uncomfortable." She said, eyes still closed, but a smile was now spreading on her face.
She stuck her hand out and I grabbed it in mine, pulling her to the house.
