Now, I know you’re probably all really confused right now, and I left you all on a bit of a cliff hanger (hehe, I love doing that) but I’m continuing now.
Okay. Where was I? Oh yeah, I remember, seeing me in the woman’s arms.
Now, to start off with, I realize how strange that sounds. Could you imagine that? Well, no, you can’t or you wouldn’t be confused! But I swear, I was looking at a ghostly scene from the past (okay, that’s strange by itself) but then, the scene changed! The face of the girl became older, and it turned into me! It might be about time to tell you what I look like. I’m about 5”3 ft, blonde hair with bright brown eyes and freckles. I’m 14 and kind of skinny for my age. My mum thinks I should eat more but I disagree. I eat a lot. My name is Katherine Evens (or Kitty to my friends, but that’s a whole different story.)
Anyway, enough about me, back to the creepy graveyard! After I saw the girl change, I collapsed. Bang. On the floor. Out cold. I was strangely aware of the distant sound of sound of my name being chanted over and over and over.
Then, I woke up in my bed, in my room surrounded by my mum, my dad and my brother. My thoughts instantly turned to the graveyard. Where was it? How had my brother gotten me home on his own? I know his friends wouldn’t have helped. My next thoughts turned to the fact that my mum looked generally scared of me. When I opened my eyes, everyone instantly looked at me completely shocked, like I’d awoken from death.
“Darling, are you alright?!” cried my mum.
“We were worried Kath.” I heard my dad speak quietly.
“Mum? Dad? What happened? Where did the graveyard go? And how did you get me home?”
“What graveyard Kath?” dad asked “I guess the doctor did say you’d be a bit confused” he added to my mum.
“Look, darling,” my mum said, sitting down on the edge of my bed, “we’re not even sure ourselves. You and Bradley went to get some shopping last night and a couple of minutes after you’d gone, we got a call, from the police.”
“What? How’s that even-“
“I’m not finished! The police sound concerned, at first they didn’t give out much information. They just said that there had been a nasty accident, and that we needed to get to the hospital straight away. When we got to the hospital, Bradley came running to us, tears staining his face. I knew that something wasn’t right; you never cry,do you, Bradley? Anyway I went into the hospital to find a police man standing outside one of the wards. He said…” she gulped, fighting back tears, “he said there wasn’t anything they could do for you. Apparently no one could work out what had happened,” the tears started falling fast down her face and I could see she was struggling to go on, “n-no-one c-c-could h-help you. You’d l-lost to much b-blood and…and...”
“Mum, you don’t have to-“
“THEY SAID YOU WERE GOING TO DIE!” She shrieked, still crying. It was evident now that it had all been a dream, but what I didn’t understand was that this had happened on a Sunday, as mum had said, but the last day I could remember was a Friday, when I'd come back from school. Where had Saturday and that Sunday gone? Why couldn’t I remember them?
The situation was just getting even more confusing.
