**Pitch POV**
I paced around my dark lair, my legs feeling too weak to even do that. My entire body was tired out as it was everyday and that angered me to an extent. My eyes never left the small whirlpool of black sand that swirled in the middle of the room.
I let out an agitated growl before sauntering up to it.
"Show me the guardians!" I demanded.
The middle of the whirlpool began to view the beings I had requested for. North was standing at the edge of the fence built to separate him from the globe as usual, not a single word coming from his mouth.
The Sandman I loath so much was out on night watch with a few other meaningless spirits that were part of their so called 'pack'.
The tooth fairy was hovering about with her weak wings, trying to bring up everyone's spirits as usual. Something suddenly caught my attention and I held my hand up, signalling the whirlpool to stop on that image. In Tooth's hand was a little handmade card. A birthday card by the looks of it. She opened it and handed the spirits she was conversing with a pen and they both began to sign it. The image zoomed in on the card and I grinned when I saw the name of the person it was written for.
"Ah, of course, how could I forget? Today is the little Ghost's one hundredth birthday." I smirked to myself, scratching my chin.
"Maybe I should give her a little gift of my own..."
**Angel POV**
"Stop struggling, Hazel, it won't take but a moment!" I insisted while the struggling cowgirl tried to jump out of the chair again.
"It don't even hurt! I'm fine, Angel, honest!"
"Keep still!"
"Woah there! Hold up now, can't we talk about this?"
"Hazel, if we don't get this wound healed you're gonna loose your arm, then you won't ever be able to horse ride again!" I screamed, eyes glowing yellow, hair flowing behind me.
Hazel squeaked and sat back down, her face draining of colour. I sighed and floated back down to the ground, smiling brightly. "Now, then. Let's take a look at that..."
Suddenly, the clinic doors burst open and Bunny hops in, his face flushed with urgency and worry. "Angel! We need ya mate!"
"Just a minute, Bunny, I'm in the middle of somethi-"
"The cave is being attacked!"
Hazel's wounded arm slipped from my grip and landed harshly on the arm of the chair. "Ow! What in tarnation...!" Hazel cursed.
"What? How!? What about the force field?" I rushed.
"They're breaking it down! Come and see fer yourselves!"
As soon as he rushed out the door I followed close behind him.
"But, Angel! What about this here bite mark on my arm?"
"Just...put a bandage around it for now and I'll take care of it later!" I called before rushing past Bunny and into the main square. It was absolute chaos. Spirits, yetis and elves were all panicking and rushing around in a big frenzy.
"Where's Friendly?" I shouted to Bunny above the noise.
"No one knows! We can't find 'er anywhere!"
Suddenly the ground shook and the crowd of Cupid's assistants began to scream and squeal.
"Look out!" Was all I heard before I was suddenly thrust to the ground when a large chunk of ice that fell from the ceiling shattered into pieces where I was just standing.
