Chapter 3
After Chad stormed away, Hailey came out of the cafeteria. Me and Max were still embracing each other and i was still crying. "What happened to him?" Hailey asked as she walked up to us with a hot dog in her mouth. I turned around and pulled the hot dog out of her mouth and through it on the ground. "Hey! i was eating that!" She said looking down at her now dirt covered hot dog. "I don't care. How can you eat at a time like this? Alyssa is in the hospital!" I halfed screamed, half sobbed. "When i saw the blood i freaked out. I needed something to fill my stomach. And you never answered my question," She pointed out. "He saw Max and me kiss and just stormed away," i replied. "So you guys are a thing now?" She asked pointing to us. "Yes Hailey we are," Max smiled and turned his head to kiss me on the cheek. "Oh, Cool. So uh do you guys need a ride to the hospital?" Hailey asked pulling her car keys out of her purse. "Yeah thanks," I replied smiling.
"Lately i've been i've been losing sleep dreaming about the things that we could be..." sang Max in the backseat. He had such an amazing voice. Alyssa, Hailey and I tell him all the time but he doesn't believe us. "So what happened with Tyler? I saw you guys run after him," Hailey asked as she turned down the music. "Well when me and Max came around the corner, Tyler was running away from the scene and to the woods. So i ran after him and when i caught up to him a saw the gun in his hand. Max came up behind me, saw the gun and punched him. Tyler fell to the ground, nose bleeding and all. I told Max to get away because ya know he could have gotten in trouble. So i looked at Tyler and just left," I said looking over at Hailey. "Well i saw the cop go up to him after he came to you and Alyssa. It looked like he got arrested," She said keeping an eye on the road.
"The last time i saw Tyler is when i left him on the ground after Max punched him," I said looking back out the window. "I wonder if he's the one who shot Alyssa," Hailey said aloud. "Well after Chad stabalized her bleeding she said 'Tyler' then after that she said 'No, he didn't shoot' and that was it. So maybe he took the gun from someone?" I asked both of them trying to figure out what happened. "I don't know. I guess we will just have to ask Alyssa when she wakes up.
The car ride lasted a little bit longer and then we were at the hospital. Hailey dropped us off in front of the hospital and told us she was going to go find a parking spot and then come inside. Me and Max got out of the caar and walked inside. Max went up to the lady at the front desk and asked for the room that Alyssa was in. She gave us the number of the room but said she was not allowed visitors until 4. So we sat down and waited for Hailey to walk in. We told Hailey about not being able to see her and she sat down next to us. Hailey being Hailey, couldn't sit for too long so she interuppted the silence, "Do you guys want anything from the Vending Machine in the cafeteria?". "No thanks Hailey," Max said. "Uh could you get me a water?" I asked. "Yeah, i will be right back," She smiled and then walked away. Now me and Max were alone, finally.
