Midnight Memories

Chapter One: Body Guard

I was sitting down in a chair in the conference room my manager, Sarah, told me to meet her at. I sigh cause she's not here yet. I look up seeing Sarah and a guy. I've never seen him before. I'm kinda confused on who he is and why he's here. "Who is that, and why is he here?" I glance at the man then look back at Sarah. "Well Alice, since you're starting to sing you need a body guard. So we've assigned Niall to be your body guard. I tried getting Austin. I couldn't get him for you." Sarah frowns looking at me. I glance over at Niall noticing him rolling his eyes, he sighs, probably because he thinks I'm a stuck up diva queen. I glare at Sarah. "You promised me Austin!! You know exactly why I wanted him as well!" I yell. "Yes I know, Alice... But either way he's married..." Sarah frowns. I frown remembering about him being married. Thankfully we didn't do anything.

"Yes I know Alice.. But either way he's married." She frowns. "I'm sorry, Alice. But since you're getting into the musical business you'll need as much protection as possible. And Mr. Horan here is your protection. I'm sure you'll love him. Now go home and have some fun because tomorrow morning your life will get a lot more stressful."

Niall gets up and walks out with me. I sigh walking out with him. "Can you just say you're my body guard but not actually be my body guard? I'll still pay you." I sigh getting into the passenger seat of the car.

He gets into the passenger seat and chuckles lightly. "Nice try, but no. Because if you get hurt then it's my ass on the line." I sigh in frustration "Whatever." I smirk to myself "Take me to the mall then. I need new shoes." I smirk because I can tell he hates me. "You probably have a hundred pairs. I'm sure you'll live without a new pair." He says. I glare at him. "You're an asshole. I hope you know once we get back to my house I'm going to the mall with or without you." I smirk again. He snickers "Yeah, keep thinking that, princess." He smirks. I glare at him "Watch me." I smirk. He doesn't say anything still driving back to my house.

I sigh and turn on the music really loud trying to annoy the shit out of him. I smirk. He changes the station to music I don't like. I glare at him then change the music to country which I know he doesn't like. But neither do I. I smirk. He parks and sighs in relief probably because he doesn't have to listen to that shit music. I smirk and get out grabbing my car keys from my bag walking over to my car opening the door and getting in. He walks over and grabs the door before I can close it, he looks at me holding his hand out. "Keys, now." He looks at me seriously. I frown. "Why can I go to the damn mall??" I look at him holding the keys. "Because I said." He sighs and reaches for the keys. I sigh in frustration, handing him the keys, getting out shoving past him purposely, walking inside. He takes the keys and puts them in his pocket walking in after me. I sigh and walk into my room slamming the door behind me. Niall walks into my room without knocking. I glare at him. "What the hell? Get out!" He doesn't show any emotion. "Here are the rules. No leaving the house without me, unless I say you can. You will start going to bed at 12. If you aren't in bed at 12 you will have consequences. You will keep your phone with you at all times if I need to contact you. You will no longer be late to rehearsals or late for anything. You will obey me. If I say no to something you won't argue. You will not interrupt me either. Oh, no slamming doors. Do you have any input?" He looks at me. I glare at him. "You expect me to follow those rules?" I smirk. "I do expect you to follow them and you will follow them." He looks at me sternly. I glare at him. "And what if I break one of the rules?" "You've been acting up, Alice. Don't you think your manager would get tired of it after a while? Step out of line and you might end up losing what you love most." He looks at me with no expression. "You-You wouldn't." I stuttered looking at him nervously. "Try me." He smirks slightly looking at me.

I get up from my bed and walk across the hallway to Niall's room, I knock before entering. "Can I order a pizza or is that off limits too?" I look at him in an annoyed expression. "That was funny." He rolls his eyes. "Go for it." He adds on. I sigh and ask "What do you want on it?" "I don't really care. Order what you want." He says. "I'm trying to be nice. But whatever. Fuck you." I glare at him before walking out and ordering a pizza. "I'm available whenever you're ready." He laughs. I throw my hands up in the air. "Gah!" I yell walking downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen looking at Niall, I sigh and grab an apple then sit down at the island. I pull my phone out of my pocket and scroll through twitter. Niall sighs while he looks through the refrigerator, I look up at him. "Well, looks like we're going grocery shopping." I frown and get up. "I'll get my shoes." I sigh and get up walking upstairs. I grab my shoes and walk back downstairs noticing Niall already outside and in the car. I sigh and get into the passenger seat laying my head on the window while he drives to the store.

Alice: *walks into the kitchen as well, sighs looking at Niall, grabs an apple sitting down at the island scrolling through twitter* Niall: *sighs looking through the fridge, frowns and looks at Alice* well. looks like we're going grocery shopping.

We get to the store and get out walking inside. He grabs a cart "Anything you want?" He asks while walking. I shake my head. "Nope." I say walking closing behind him. He sighs and stops walking. "Look, I get it. You don't like me. It's fine, but we're going to be stuck with each other for a while. We might as well get used to it." I sigh not saying anything, putting some healthy food into the basket even though I don't eat that much healthy food. He puts some things that I like into the basket I sigh "I don't want any of that stuff anymore. I'm trying to eat healthy." I mumble putting some more fruits and veggies into the basket. I can feel his eyes looking at me. He frowns and replies. "You have a free night tonight. Do whatever you want just call me if you need anything." He looks at me. "There's not really much I can do but stay home or go to the mall. So, I'm fine but thanks anyway." I say. He frowns. "Just do something Alice. Go out with friends or go to the mall. Forget about my rules for one night." He says. I sigh, "Well there is a party tonight... Do you want to come with me?" I look at him. He shrugs, "Sure if you want me there." I smile weakly, "Either way it's all the way in Doncaster so I wouldn't be able to go because it's a three hour drive and the manager doesn't allow me to be driving that long without sleep unless someone is with me and we can switch off driving." He smiles and nods. "It's fine, I'll drive. I know I've been harsh lately; you need some fun." He smiles weakly, I smile back. "Well you're doing your job, we may not like each other but it's nice to know that someone's watching out for me. So in a way thank you." I smile. He nods "Mhmm" he chuckles and walks to the checkout line paying for the food. I grab a few Arizona's and Peace Teas before he pays, I chuckle to myself.
