Ever since I hit the sixth grade, my life has been pretty shitty. I've had no friends since then, my parents divorced, and I've been bullied and made fun of to the point of me wanting and trying to kill myself multiple times. The only thing I've been living for is my family.

But sometimes, still, I wonder, Is family really worth it? Should I suffer every day just so they can have a son? Is it really worth it?

So now here we are, I'm little more than a month into my last year in high school when I find out that the closest thing I would ever have to a friend is moving away to the big ole' state of Texas, where the stars are bigger and brighter at night, and you ain't gotta' worry 'bout nobody messin' with you, 'cuz ain't nobody ever gonna' mess with goddamn Texas.

Her name is Mercedes Marie Morelli, and I'm madly in love with her, and I can't lose her. Mercedes Marie Morelli, the nerdiest, most beautiful, funniest, cutest girl ever to step foot on earth. Mercedes Marie Morelli, the girl who probably doesn't even really know who I am. Mercedes Marie Morelli, the girl who's leaving me.

I wake up one morning later than usual. I turn off my radio, get dressed, and get some breakfast. My stomach is freaking killing me, which is expected. Nerves.

Today, I'm going to tell Mercedes. I have to tell her.

So once I'm all ready to go, I get in my car and drive off to Arbons High, the small high school that is miraculously managing to  keep the little town of Arbons alive, feeling better than ever.
