Christmas

Jake walked to the common room and fell onto the couch sadly. Harry walked in with a concerned expression on his face. "What's wrong Jake?" Harry asked, he went over and sat on the other couch.

"I did something bad" Jake muttered, he grabbed a cushion and put it over his face. "Dad is never going to forgive me" Jake said louder so Harry could hear him.

"What did you do?" Harry asked. Jake didn't speak. Suddenly there was a white cloud and Lily Potter appeared through it. She looked confused. "J-Jake" Harry stuttered as he stared at his mother.

"Harry, he showed me to Severus" lily said softly. "That's why he is feeling so guilty" lily finished. Jake threw the pillow off his head and looked at his mother in astonishment. He didn't summon her, she just came.

"How did you get here?" Jake asked.

"I don't know, I just felt you needed me and I suddenly appeared here" she replied.

"Bye Mum, I'm sorry I summoned you by accident, I didn't mean to" Jake said. He closed his eyes and Lily disappeared.

"I still can't get over you doing that" Harry said as he stared at the place where his mother stood. "And why did you do that to your dad, that would have killed him inside"

"I know.. I didn't think, I was trying to prove him wrong about something. I thought I was being smart but I'm so stupid" Jake said. Harry sighed.

"He will forgive you"

"I lied to you" Katie said with a guilty look on her face. Jake raised his eye brow. "Lee did kiss me and I, well kissed him back, I didn't mean to... I just started to care about him, we became friends. I was so down that I wasn't around you enough and he was there" Katie said. "I know that's not an excuse, I'm sorry" she finished. Jake stared at her hopelessly. He was having the worst day.

"Do you even love me?" Jake asked. Katie frowned and took out her wand she pointed it away from him. She closed her eyes and thought of Jake.

"Expecto Patronum" she said. A rabbit came out of her wand and hopped around Jake happily. "I'll always love you..." She said as she watched her rabbit jump around the room. Jake remembered when they first formed their patronuses, his was a wolf and wolves chase rabbits.

"Maybe we just fell in love too soon Katie, I want to be mad at you but I can't... I'm breaking up with you because I know it's for the best, we need to just remember that we are fourteen, we are young" Jake said. "I also can't be with someone who might have feelings for someone else" Jake said sadly. Katie tried to protest but Jake shook his head and left the common room. He felt different, he felt hurt but he could deal with it because he knew deep down that it was the right thing to do.

"Merry Christmas" Severus said to a sleepy Jake, who woke up to Severus standing over his bed. Jake yawned and shook his head with a small laugh.

"You're not angry with me?" Jake asked. Severus shook his head.

"No I couldn't be, it's Christmas" he said handing Jake a present. Jake grabbed a poorly wrapped present from under his bed and gave it to Severus. Jake unwrapped his present and saw a set of potions.

"What's this?" Jake asked.

"Look at the card" Severus said, pointing to a small card on the side. Jake picked it up and read it.

For sleepless nights - Dad

"A sleeping potion?" Jake asked. His father nods.

"It will give you a dreamless sleep, I know The Dark Lord gets in your head sometimes" Severus says. "And other people"

"I haven't had one of those dreams in a long time" Jake admits. Severus nods. "Let's go down to the Great Hall for breakfast, I'm hungry!"

Once Jake was dressed he went down to the great hall with his father. He saw Harry, Ron and Hermione laughing so he went and sat with them. "What are you three laughing at?" Jake asked, he was amused by their laughter.

"Santa Claus" Ron said with a laugh.

"What's a Santa Claus?" Jake asked with a confused look on his face.

"It's a muggle thing for Christmas, an old fat man comes down a chimney and gives you like hundreds of presents" Ron exaggerates. Jake laughs and shakes his head.

"Is that even a real thing?" He asked. Hermione nods and laughs.

"Oh yeah, of course it is... Apparently Santa has a sleigh with magical reindeers" Hermione says with a laugh.

"Santa's not real?" Harry asks shocked. They all look at him and laugh. Harry laughs along with them as they eat breakfast. When breakfast disappeared from the plates they went outside to have a snow ball fight and to build a snowman. Jake had so much fun. The Weasley twins weren't at Hogwarts, the decided they wanted to go home for Christmas but Jake didn't care much, he was having fun with his brother. Later Ginny came and joined and she started having a snow ball fight with Harry.

"I had fun Ginny, I'm glad you stayed for Christmas" Harry said happily. Ginny blushed and nodded. "I got you something..." Harry said getting out a box and handing it to her. "Merry Christmas" she looks at him shocked and opens the box. There is a bracelet in there, Ginny smiles and locks at him.

"You shouldn't have" she said as her cheeks turn even more red.

"I wanted something that will protect you, it will turn red if there is something with dark magic around" Harry said. "Dumbledore gave it to me and I thought maybe you should have it. Apparently if you are really close to something with dark magic it will heat up" Ginny put the bracelet on and right away it burnt her wrist. She took the necklace off straight away and watched as it turned from Red back to gold. She looked at Harry curiously.
