Rushes and rambles and racing fast,

Mysterious auras and shadows cast,

Dark and dull sensations lumber,

Hollowing and whistling winds, no rest or slumber.

Deeper and profound at a glance,

Daunting and murky, eerie stance,

The saplings sway and veer from side to side,

Stream courses and flows to hide.

To hide what’s present and perilous within

A step closer and the obscurity dematerializes.

Not everything is malevolent at glance,

I am a forest, not a slaughterhouse.
