I sighed. This was going well. I picked up the jar and roared, 'Bardus pixie!' As I threw it onto the floor.
It broke...into shatters of shining jewels even though i knew it was glass...or...no. It was NOT glass anymore.
'You did this?' I whispered, cautiosly.
He nodded. 'And I'm glad ye saw. Ye see, if we go ta...tha'...place..we ca' pay t' stay somewh're if ya gimmie glass.' He explained, moving his hands as he talked.
'Hoc speculum in tota anima mea.' I said, absent mindedly.
'You what? Why did you say that? That m--'
'I know what it means! That mirror with all Thy Soul!' I snapped.
'They...are the secret words to...Ossa' Rob began to whisper, 'Ossa terra.'
I shrugged, then actually processed the words. 'HOLY MOLY! SERIOUSLY!? NO WAY!' I screamed.
He nodded.
The translation was Land Of The Bones. Any person with the right common sense would be scared.
I ran back downstairs. The book was back!
Oh dear. The pages were ripped out. I grabbed the cover and ran back upsairs. 'COME WITH ME! NOW!' I demanded, picking up the diamond shatters bit by bit. Rob bolted up my arm. 'Right ye are, m'am.' He squealed, excited.
I whispered the words, ignoring every sound around me...
I was in my own zone...
'Hoc speculum in tota anima mea, hoc speculum in tota anima mea, hoc speculum in tota anima mea.' I chanted, reapeating myself to make sure.
I opened my eyes...a desert with campers all around me. They stared.
'Its Annie again!' I heard one shout.
'Come to steal the pages from our Lord Death!' Another howled.
Rob hit me on my head. 'RUN!' He screeched.
'I AM!' I said, only strating to do so.
I had no idea who Annie was. I wasn't even called Annie.
I had a plan.
I took out the biggest jewel peice, now a turqoise colour.
'Hoc anima mea.' I said, camly, stopping on my path. It translated as; 'This is my Soul.'
They all stood.
Frozen.
Motionless.
