"I was wondering when you would come back to us, Taylor. The Red Dreamers have missed you, if you enter you will face your inevitable death. The elder one is terribly tired. Leave and forget the staff." Jaces words are laced with honey, ash, and fond memories of things past.

He looks haggard. He has bags under his eyes, his normally soft hair is lanky and his skin is pale.

"I came back for the Pale Staff, I don't want to fight you, but I will if you get in my way, Jace." I ready my staff for a fight but instead he steps aside of the great stone doors allowing me entrance.

"I wish you would listen to me but if not..." He appears beside me.

Leaning in he whispers, “wouldn't want you to have all the fun without me." I'm skeptical of his presence. As I am about to speak I feel a sharp stab in my side falling over paralyzed.

"What have you done, Jace?" As I seeth with rage his feet come into view.

"I can't let you storm in there and attack him... I'm duty bound." I feel stupid trusting him for that split second than I fall unconscious and welcome the calming darkness.

In the darkness a voice calls out, "you must unite the three sisters; Strife, Victory, and Peace before it is too late". I awaken by the sudden light.

I'm sat in a cell of some kind. All I can remember is Jace stabbing me and then passing out. The darkness and the words come back as though from a dream like state.

The putrid smell of urine, mold, and death hangs all around. Hay covers the floor where I am sat. I look around and see another person.

"H-hello?" As I speak the other person comes out of the shadows. He is a very beautiful man with silver hair, he looks about my age. His eyes are hazel and he looks hungry.

Without warning he lunges and stops as he hits a patch of sunlight and hisses, retreating into his corner. Vampire. Great. His eyes lose their hunger and is replaced by fear and anger.

"Damn you hunters and your crossbows. You think your all that just because you can wave a light and scare us." He snarls this, looking at me with pure hatred. He is clearly mistaken. I can't find words staring into his eyes the way they search for an answer. An answer I don't have.

"I'm sure your mistaken I'm a simple Dreamer. My once beloved has betrayed my already thin amount of trust and now I'm here." He hears all of this and a look of understanding passes over his face.

"Jace. You know Jace?" He nods his head and looks up at the ceiling with a knowing smile.

"He was my partner shall we say. Speaking of which where are we?" I look over at his eyes.

"His 'holding' cells. Do you wanna escape? I can get us out all you have to do is give me some of your blood, a small price for freedom.” The look that washes over his face melts my muscles to butter and makes me forget all the problems.

"We'll escape… than I want Jaces head on a platter." Winking I crawl over next to him, he scoots closer. His body heat and his warm breath down my neck makes me feel safe. At first he trails kisses down my neck slowly tracing my jaw than there is a small pressure right above my collar bone. Moaning I grip his shirt while he drinks. It stops as fast as it began.

He takes only a little bit of blood. Before he pulls away he plants a soft little kiss on the bite mark. I suspected sharing blood was intimate but that was on a whole other level.

"Thank you, for the drink." He smiles softly and gets up slowly, nearly falling back down.

"I should drink from you again." I can feel my cheeks heat up as he winks. After saying this he coughs as though there is a fire.
