                                                              Chapter 1

                                                Nothing More Than A Kiss

I kept telling myself that this night was an accident. I promised Xylon that I wouldn't cheat but here I was kissing his best friend. My eyes shimmered, it had been almost five months since the wreck, almost five months he has been in a coma on life support. The doctors keep saying that they should pull the plugs, but his parents keep paying them to keep him alive. I begged    my mom to move away from this pain and misery but something in her seems to know he will make it through, that was almost a year ago before she died from cancer. So tonight was supposed to be fun and free of the bad things, so I took the route that warmed my heart and soul. This one sip turned into another and another until my body was numb. I  felt amazing. I thought nothing could destroy this feeling, but I had to think and it came to an end. As my thoughts wondered and my lips yearned for a kiss from Xylon, I felt like he was there with me so I kissed Shannon. I blame it on that reasoning but really I wanted to kiss him. Shannon captivated me from the start, but Xylon stole my heart. Then his words broke the silence.

"Jessamyn, are you okay?" His words swirled throughout my brain, the sound was so beautiful that it drew me near. My thoughts seem to be coming true because I reached up behind his head and pulled him close and then it happened, I kissed Shannon right smack on the lips and in a split second he moved away. I looked at him, dead in the eye. I didn't know what to do. I miss Xylon and I don't know when he will be here, in my arms again. Then I saw that Shannon had grabbed the keys to his truck and grabbed my jacket. He was going to take me home, and by home I meant to my brother's house down the block. I didn't speak to him anymore and he knew that I would not go. So, I had pushed everything to the side and I did the unexpected, I had grabbed the keys from Shannon and stumbled my way to the truck with him on my heels. I got into the truck and turned the ignition, as the truck roared to life I looked over to see Shannon fall to his knees. I felt the rush of heat wash over me.

Jessamyn, your eyes! Jessamyn..." His words became more and more distant and then my my ears drowned everything out. Everything changed to black except for one light and the end of a tunnel. I saw something move and I shuttered in fear.  Then a face emerged, it was his face. I ran towards him and jumped into his arms. His smell absorbed into my nose and I knew this was more than a dream. His hug warmed me, just that one touch had the butterflies flying.

"Jessaboo, I don't have much time. I  had to come talk to you. Don't you ever get behind the wheel drunk, ever again. Thank God Shannon had been there. He saved your life. I am going to make another deal and maybe this time it won't turn out like this. I have to go! He wants me to run an errand. He can't know I saw you! Wake up, he knows!"

"Xylon! Come back to me!" I woke up with a pain in my chest. My heart was pounding so loud my ears ringed. Even though he disappeared i seen the imprint of his eyes turning colors and a man, nice build and shaggy hair approaching me. With a jolt to the arm, someone had shaken me awake. It was Isiah, his tall lean figure standing above my now paralized body.

"Jessamyn, are you alright? Was it a night terror?" He never talks to me. What the crap? Wait is this a guilt thing? UGH! I wish people would quit messing with my mind... and hormones. Great just another hormonal teenage girl. My life can't get any worse. Oh great, now that I said that it's going to start raining. Oh no, I'm staring like a fool. I went to lean up and hit my head on his.
