Chapter 1

"If it bleeds, we can kill it!" I heard, from what sounded like a young girls voice. Cheers and battle cries bellow from what also sounded of a rather large crowd. I couldn't see anything. I moved my arms around and felt bars held up all around me. I had slashes on my legs and my back stung from my sweat.

"Silence!" Snapped the unknown girl, "Bring her forward!"

I felt something move from under me. I started to bounce around from this 'ride' I was on.

"Remove the blinds!" Cried the young girl.

I seen light all around me, bars too. I was trapped inside a cage. A rather small cage, only enough room to sit up. I look up to face the young woman, but she has a black robe covering her whole body.

'How did I get here?' . 'why am I here? What happened?' I finally look before me. A crowd, a huge audience stand below me. I am sitting on a terrace. I hear a slashing noise from behind me. I seen a dark figure with a robe- seemed manly- with a sword. A sharp sword. He was walking towards me. All I could do was stare into his mysterious blue eyes.

He lifted his sword and drops it down straight towards my face.

BAMMM. I woke up.

'woah that was a weird dream. Hmmm.. Oh well'

I walk downstairs to grab a bite to eat before school. I lived in a small farm house with 2 annoying little brothers, Alex and Jordan, and a sister, Emily. My sister is quite and goes to another school. I hate her school. A bunch of snobby rich kids go there. She goes to David Neplam Junior High. I go to Jesse Parks Junior high. She's in 7th, I'm in 8th. Oh yea, did I forget to mention my name?? It's Anna. It's actually LeAnna but 'Anna' for short.

I grabbed my book bag and carry it towards my kitchen. I see Emily reading a book at the table.

"Whatcha reading?" I curiously question.

"A book." She answers quietly. I can't barely hear her talk at all.

"Okay." I say back while grabbing my breakfast-to-go shake and walk out the door for the bus. 'God, she's so weird' I think to myself.

I hate the bus. It smells of rotten eggs and isn't very well taken care of. On my way I hear someone cough behind me. I turn to face them. It was my bestfriend, Colin Thumbrod. He's like my brother.

"Hey Colin! I didn't know you ride?!" I exclaimed.

"Not usually, but sometimes."

"Well this is the first time I've seen you! Mind if I sit?"

"No, go ahead."

I quickly switch to the seat behind me and throw my bag in the seat next to us. I glance down at his math book. During this quick glance I see a drawing coming from the book. I saw a sword with scribbled words that say 'My Eyes Stare Into Your Soul..' I look at Colin.

Pointing to the drawing I ask " what is that?"

"Oh that's just something I found in the hallway at school, I want to draw a sword like that."

"Okay" I say while standing up to exit the bus.

Walking into the school sure was, different I should say. Many people acted hyped up on sugar. Their heads twitching from side to side. I met up with my friends, Colin and Kayla.

"The sword is the symbol for the-"

"Hey Anna!" Kayla cut Colin off with her words. Colin gave me a weird look and shot a quick, serious glance at Kayla. They nodded.

"Umm guys. Are you okay??" I asked. Something weird was up.
