Chapter 1: Childhood Memories

I giggled as Louis rolled down the hill. I sat up at the top and smiled when Louis sat up at the bottom.

"Your turn!" Louis said and I shook my head.

"No!" I hugged my knees as Louis frowned.

"Whyyyyyyyy not? It's fun!" Louis giggled himself being all happy. I grew nervous and shook my head hiding my face. I hated myself, it was so simple to roll down the hill and yet... I couldn't. My breath hitched slightly as I grew more and more nervous. I only calmed down when I felt Lou hug me. I looked up and saw Louis smile down at me.

"We can do it together!" His amazing idea made me giggle and smile brightly as I nodded eagerly. And we did. We grasped each other's wrists and rolled together. We stopped half way when I rolled into a tree and giggled.

"Are you okay?" Louis crawled over as I lay on my back staring up at the big tree. It's branches sprawled out making it look pretty.

"I'm sorry Mister Tree." I smiled at the tree and Louis laughed.

"Trees can't talk." Louis said and I disagreed with him.

"Of course they can't. They don't like raising their voices! They whisper instead." I said and Louis giggled.

"No they do-" Louis stopped when the wind blew and tree leaves moved together.

"Oh my gosh they do whisper!" Louis smiled and I giggled and nodded before sitting next to the tree. Louis moved over and sat on a root.

"Don't sit there. Mister Tree might not like it."

"What if Mister Tree, is a Mrs?" Louis whispered and moved onto the grass next to me. I paused and looked at the tree.

"I don't know? What if it is?" We both looked at the tree in wonder.

"Should we ask?" Louis asked and I shook my head.

"Is that not rude?"

"Maybe it is a Mrs though and we were rude to call it a Mister." Louis replied and I gasped.

"Now you were rude by calling the tree an "it", you have to apologise." I whispered to him and he glanced at the root and then the huge trunk.

"Sorry for calling you an "it"... And also for sitting on you." Louis added and I smiled and hugged him.

"Louis?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you think we'll be together till the end?" I asked and looked at him.

"Of course! You're my best friend. I would never, ever, ever, ever, EVER, leave you. I promise."

"And I promise that I'll never leave you either. Never." He smiled and stood up before poking my arm before he ran away yelling;

"Tig!"

I giggled and got up running after him. I chased him and he chased me for hours and hours on end until the sun came up. That's when we walked back home.

"Hey Anna, do you think we'll live next door to each other forever?"

"I hope so! I don't want a new neighbour." I replied to him and he nodded.

"Me too. I like you as my neighbour now!" He explained and I giggled.

"I like you too as my neighbour."
