Your POV
BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!
I groan and turn over to face my alarm clock, slamming the snooze button to shut up the thing. I'm about to go back asleep, but my mom comes into my room yelling.
"Y/N M/N A/T, IF YOU DON'T GET OUT OF BED I'LL DRAG YOU TO THE BUS STOP MYSELF!"If you think she was bluffing, she's not.
I finally drag myself out of my warm, comfy bed and into the bathroom to get ready. I wash up and put on a F/C spaghetti strap crop top, ripped light wash jeans, a A/C cardigan, and white converse. Next, I apply makeup, put on jewelry, and put my H/L hair up in a messy bun. (It stays down if your hair is short.)
I look at my reflection. "Well, this is as good as it's going to get," I say to myself.
I grab my phone and backpack and go downstairs to eat breakfast. I'm greeted by my mother and the smell of (favorite breakfast food). "Morning, Sweetheart," She smiles warmly. It was like she didn't just threaten me 10 minutes ago.
"Good morning, Mom," I sit down at the table as she serves me plate. I dig into the food and savor the taste on my tounge. "This is so good!" I tell her with my mouth full. She laughs and replies, "Thank you, Y/N. Are you ready for your second week of 11th grade?"
"Oh, yeah. I'm bursting with joy."
Honestly, I was dreading it except the fact that another day of high school meant it was closer to it being over. When I was younger, I loved going to school, but now I just want to survive. I still get honor roll and do well in my classes, but I'm not ecstatic about it as I used to be.
Mom gives me a knowing look. "Don't be like that, Honey. Look for the positive in things and try being excited. You don't know what will happen this year."
"Okay, I'll try," I answer.
"That's my girl," She kisses my forehead. "I love you."
"Love you too," I say and leave the house to go to my bus stop.
Once I arrive my destination, I take out my phone and earbuds to listen to music. The screen says that it's 7:58 and the bus comes at 8:05, meaning I had 7 more minutes of standing. I look at my surroundings to kill time. The sun was trying to wake up, birds were chirping, and there was a slight breeze blowing. Overall, it was a peaceful and relaxing environment that I was enjoying very much.
Until a yellow tin can of loud teenagers drove up to where I was standing.
I sigh, get on the bus, and scan for an empty seat. My E/C eyes fall on my best friend sitting in the middle row waving at me. I walk over and sit next to her. "Hey, Y/N!" B/F/N greets me with a wide grin.
"I will never understand how you can be so cheerful in the morning," I respond.
"And I will never understand how you are so boring," She responds back.
I roll my eyes. "Yet you still hang out with me."
"Of course I do. Who else is going to make your life not as dull?" She joked.
"Hahaha. You're freaking hilarious."
"I know right?"
I shake my head and laugh, but what she said was true. B/F/N was more outgoing and made friends so easily. Then there was me. I'm socially awkward and pretty much invisible to everyone, but B/F/N. She was my best friend, scratch that, my only friend. I lay low, avoiding drama and that's how I like it. Except for when necessary, she's the main reason I'm not cooped up in the house all the time. I'd rather be reading a book, watching TV, or stargazing than going to some party. Too many people and too much noise.
We finally arrive at school and I get off the bus with B/F/N to head inside. Our first bells are different, so I say bye to her and go to my biology class. I arrive at the classroom and take a desk in the very back. As I got out my supplies, the teacher, Mr.Vector came up to me. He said that he got a call from the office that said I was needed there.
Seriously? I just sat down. The office couldn't call for me when I walking by?
Mr.Vector gave me a hall pass and I walked to the office. I enter and go up to the lady at the front desk. She was a middle aged armidillo with a kind smile.
"What do you need, Dear?"
"My teacher said that I was asked to be here," I tell her.
"Are you Y/N A/T?" She asks.
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Then the principal wants to speak to you. His office is straight ahead and then you make a left."
"Okay, thank you," I give her a polite smile.
I make my way to the principal's office, wondering why he wanted to see me. I ruled out being in trouble because I'm 100% sure that I hadn't done anything wrong. At least I don't think I have.
I'm at the doorway my destination to see the principal, Mr. Acorn, and a hedgehog my age. Mr. Acorn notices my presence. "You may come in, Y/N." I walk into the office, but don't bother to sit down.
"You must be wondering why you're here," Mr. Acorn states.
I nod my head and he continues. "Well, it's not because you're in trouble. You've been a great student since freshman year."
Please get to the point, so I can go back to class.
"This is Shadow the Hedgehog, our new student," He gestures over to my left.
"Shadow, this is Y/N A/T."
I look at Shadow. He was a black hedgehog with red streaks, chest fur and ruby eyes. I admit, they were really cool. He wore a black leather jacket, red shirt, dark jeans, and these weird shoes that reminded me of rockets. He looked like a typical bad boy.
"You're going to show him around school and help him with any work if needed since he has the same classes as you."
You've got to be kidding me.
"Hmph, I don't need her to be my babysitter," Shadow says.
I roll my eyes. "She's not your babysitter, but more like a guide," The principal explains. "You're going to need it with the situation you're in."
"Whatever," He snarls and exits the office.
Mr. Acorn sighs. "You can go now, Y/N. Make sure to give this to Shadow."
He gives me a slip and I walk out to catch up with Shadow. I exhale with irritation. I didn't sign up for this.
Y'know what? I think I'd rather be in trouble.
