For the second time in two days Kate was woken up by a frantic Bella. This time, however; it was so much worse than yesterday.

"Kate, get up," Bella shouted at her.

Kate shook her head shoving her face farther into the pillow, "What time it is?"

Bella shook her again, "Kate, did you know?"

"Know what," Kate pushed herself up to a sitting position and rubbed her eyes with one hand and pushed her hair out of her face with the other.

"Did you know that Jacob was a werewolf?"

Kate's eyes snapped open and she looked at her sister like she had three heads. Which, in her world, wouldn't actually be all that surprising.

"Did he tell you?"

Bella rushed out of Kate's room angry.

"Fuck," Kate muttered under her breath as she stood up and slid on her old tennis shoes and jacket. She ran down the stairs as Bella was getting in her car.

Kate threw open the passenger's door and slid inside, "You're not going without me."

Bella threw her a nasty look and just drove off towards La Push.

"How could you not tell me? How long have you known?"

Kate grimaced, "Since we moved here. But Jacob only recently phased so technically since then."

Bella rolled her eyes at her sister.

"Look, just like the Cullen's, it wasn't my secret to tell. Are you really going to be mad at me just because I can keep my damn mouth shut?"

Her sister didn't respond as they sped towards what Kate felt like was about to be a big mistake. They pulled up to Billy's house and before the car had even fully stopped, Bella jumped out of the truck and marched up to Billy's door. Kate followed slowly but stopped when she saw a whole pack of shirtless boys approaching from the trees.

Kate made a beeline towards them and sprinted across the field.

"Princess, look I'm sor..." Paul began when she was close enough.

Kate shook her head, "We can have a touchy makeup session later. Right now you need to leave. Bella's here; she just figured it out and she's pissed. You all need to leave now. I tried to stop her but she was hell bent on coming here so unless you want to explain everything to her get out of here!"

They started to turn around but it was too late.

Bella came marching along the field towards them, "What did you do?" she demanded of the boys.

Kate turned her back to the boys with her hand out to Bella.

"Sis, calm down it's not what it looks like," she began but Bella cut her off.

"Hey! What did you do?" Bella yelled at them. She marched right up to Sam and shoved him hard in the chest. Sam took it like a champ but Paul was ready to pounce on Bella.

"Easy," Sam told the boys.

Kate grabbed her sisters arms to gently pull her away, "Bella now's not..."

"He didn't want this!" Bella yelled.

Paul being Paul, poured fuel onto the fire, "What did we do? What did he do? What did he tell you?"

Sam and Kate stood in the middle of the two of them trying get them to calm down.

"Nothing! He tells me nothing because he's scared of you," Bella finished with a huff.

The boys started to laugh at that. Even Kate cracked a smile at this. Apparently this was way to much for Bella because before Kate could even stop her, Bella had punched Paul square in the jaw.

The effect was immediate. The boy's all stopped laughing and Kate stood in between her sister and her friend. Paul began shaking with rage all the way from his head down to his feet. His body started to shudder as the wolf began to emerge.

"Bella run!" Kate snapped at her sister.

Bella began backing away from them as the rest of them tried to calm Paul down but it was too late. Paul began to growl before he doubled over and a wolf burst through his skin to replace the boy who just stood there.

Behind her, Bella began to run away as Kate's hands started to glow blue. Kate thrust her hands forward and subdued Paul under a shield of energy. Paul growled and raged beneath it but he was pinned down. Sweat began to drip down her face as she tried to concentrate holding Paul down. But it was too difficult. She had never actually fought the boys in wolf form once they were truly angry. Paul was getting to be too strong for Kate as he struggled beneath the weight of the energy. His head began snapping at her but she tried to hold on.

"Kate!" She heard Jacob's cry of rage and fear from somewhere behind her.

It was Jacob's voice that broke her concentration. Paul gave an almighty buck and the blue shield broke. The blast from the force hit Kate and threw her back about ten feet causing her to land on her back in the dirt. Paul's look of rage was no longer on Bella but on Kate.

Before Paul could even make a move towards her a mass of fur appeared before Kate. Jacob stood protectively in front of her in his wolf form. He let out a terrifying growl towards Paul as Kate stood up behind him. She had never seen him this angry before.

Paul and Jacob squared off before Jacob had had enough and charged Paul out of pure rage. Their jaws and claws snapped at each other as the force of Jacob's hit sent them tumbling to the ground. They fought and rolled away from the rest of the group. Jacob threw Paul off of him and charged at him again this time sinking his teeth into Paul's shoulder. Kate put her hand to her mouth as she gasped. She hated seeing two of her best friends fighting. Jacob pushed Paul through the trees as they bit and scratched at each other until they were no longer visible by the human group. Their growls could still be heard echoing off the trees as they disappeared.

As Kate stared in horror Sam turned to her, "Hey, take Bella back to Emily's place. You two go with them."

Embry and Jared nodded as they watched Sam jog off into the forest to break up the two wolves.

"You okay?" Embry asked Kate in concern.

Kate nodded.

Jared threw his arm around her with a wide shit eating grin, "She's fine. Paul couldn't hurt her even if he really wanted to."

Kate frowned and looked at him with a frown, "Jared, what are you..."

Embry hit Jared in the shoulder rather hard and Jared dropped his smile.

"Ow!"

The two boys seemed to have a silent conversation before Jared moved his arm.

"Come on," Embry sighed, "I guess the wolf's out of the bag. Let's get your sister back to Emily's. I know she'll be glad to see you."

Embry and Jared moved to get Bella off of the ground where she sat shaking. Kate took a step towards her sister but stopped to look off into the trees hoping with more than anything that Jacob was alright.
