"Rin? Psst.....Rin!" Amaimon whispered loudly in Rin's ear, Rin is asleep on his bed, completely unconscious. Amaimon poked Rin's side, were he knew he was ticklish, making Rin squirm away and rollover, away from Amaimon. "Rin," Amaimon said softly.
Rin rolls over and half way squinted an eye open, still more than half asleep. "WHAT YUKIO?! IT'S WAAY TO EARLY FOR THIS!" Rin yelled into Amaimon's ear.
Amaimon jumped back, surprised that he hadn't noticed who he was. "I'm not Yukio," He thought for a moment, placing his finger on his chin, "But if I was, I wouldn't like waking you up every day."
Rin groaned and sat up, scratching his head, "Wait...not Yukio-Chan?" Rin looked up at Amaimon, actually seeing the green haired boy this time. Freaking out, he reached for his blade; he kept it by his bed side every night. Amaimon grabbed his wrist lightly, stopping him, inches from his sword. Rin stopped. He knows that if Amaimon wanted to stop a fight, he would've reaches for his sword, not his wrist.
"Rin, I'm not here to fight you," Amaimon whispered to him. Rin's sleepy eyes found Amaimon's only a few inches from his. Rin tried to back away, glaring and barring his teeth at the other demon. Amaimon frowned.
"Then what do you want?!" Rin yelled, wishing Yukio was there, but he was probably already down eating breakfast. Amaimon seemed slightly embarrassed, and far from hostile. Rin calmed down a little bit at this.
"Rin....I...I don't know why I came here...." In one swift movement Amaimon was a few feet away and sitting criss-cross on the floor, head down, hands in lap. Rin stayed frozen to his spot on the bed.
"...Why did you wake me up, then?" Rin asked the earth god. Amaimon looked up slightly, eye Rin to see his reaction.
"To hear your voice. Of course, I didn't expect you to scream in my ear," Rin started at him, "What?"
"Why would you want to hear my voice? Last time I saw you, I killed you," Rin stated, inching his hand toward his sword.
"I know," Amaimon glanced at Rin's hand, then back down to his own hands, "Really Rin. I'm not here to fight with you. Only talk..." To prove his point, Amaimon raised his hands in the air, a sign of defeat. Rin stood, keeping a well trained eye on Amaimon, and sat in front of him, and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"What's wrong then?" Rin asked, concerned. Even though he wasn't a human, he still had feelings, right? Well, Rin had feelings as well, and they were mostly the same. Amaimon sighed. Reaching up, he gently pushed the hair out of Rin's eyes. Rin—stupidly—jumped away at his touch, making Amaimon slouch on his spot on the floor, head down again.
"I knew you would react like that to me," Was all he said. Rin's eyebrows mashed together in confusion, 'What is he talking about?' Rin thought, moving closer to Amaimon, tilting the earth god's head up by his chin.
"What are you talking about? Tell me what's wrong," Rin asked of him softly, not letting go of his chin. Amaimon's expression changed to one of confusion and sorrow.
"I suppose I'm here now, it couldn't hurt," He took a calming breath, shaking slightly, and staring in Rin's blue eyes, "After you killed me, I came back here and spent some time as a small hamster. I was given the task to keep an eye on you and your brother. A few days ago I saw you and your friends throw a birthday for everyone. You were having such a great time and all I wanted to do was join you and your friends, maybe have a slice of the cake that you made," Rin starts to catch on about were this is going, "I had a bit of the one you gave Mestio. It was wonderful, by the way. Anyway, I've been keeping close tabs on you since then. Wanting to talk to you, not wanting to, but the entire time I felt...this...pull to you, Rin. And I suppose it's not... a 'friend'...kind of—" Amaimon was cut off by Rin's lips stealing the words on his own in an awkward kiss. Rin pulled away, blushing slightly when he saw Amaimon's eyes light up.
"That is what you were getting at, right?" Rin asked the startled demon, blushing brighter. Amaimon smiled softly, and stood up, pulling Rin up by his hand. Amaimon is shorter than Rin by a few inches, Rin suppressed a chuckle.
"Yes, Rin-Chan. Exactly that," He purred, wrapping his arms round Rin's waist, without thinking, Rin did the same. They connected lips once more before a knock on the door brought them out of it.
"Rin?" Yukio's voice drifted though the door. Rin jumped and drew away from Amaimon, who frowned. Sensing the hurt Amaimon felt by him pulling away, Rin leaned to his ear and whispered to him.
"Can you come back later?" Rin said, hushed. Amaimon nodded.
"Nii-san?" Yukio asked a bit louder. Rin, still near Amaimon's ear, placed a light kiss on his cheek, and hugged him. He let go, and—just like that—Amaimon was gone. Rin frowned.
"Yeah, Yukio?" Rin shouted back at the door, trying to sound tired and sleepy, but he was way to awake for that.
"Do you know that you missed all your classes today? Lucky you didn't have cram school today," he said, opening the door.
"What?! But... it's early!! The sun is rising—" Rin looked out the window to see it stormy, not where the sun was, making it dim, "Oh."
"Yeah. I have things I need to do. I'll be back in an hour and a half or so," He said to me, displeased, "Rin, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone," he sighed, and closed the door again.
Rin sighed and collapsed on his bed. What was he doing, messing around with Amaimon? Does Amaimon love him? Does he love Amaimon? He sighed and closed his eyes. Amaimon will know soon enough that Yukio left. And he'll be back.
The floor creaked next to him. Rin opened his eyes to a sweet smile that gave him butterflies. He smiled back. Yeah, he loves Amaimon. Rin inched over on his bed and patted the space next to him, a motion for Amaimon to lay down next to him. Amaimon did, and faced Rin.
"I love you."
