Do you know what it's like,
To live a life like mine?
To drown, to struggle, to gasp out for air,
To watch on, helpless, as they go on without a care?
To laugh, to listen, to help and to smile,
To pretend you're happy, but cry all the while?
Do you know what it's like,
To lose your sense of happiness
To only know facades, and way too much stress?
To be dead inside, to cry yourself to sleep,
To wish for death, but you don't say a peep?
Do you know what it's like,
To be there for one and for all,
Yet they simply look on, and watch as you fall?
To close your eyes and pray every night,
That you won't wake up to see the morning light?
Do you know what it's like to hope someone sees,
That you're not as content as others may believe?
To long for a person to hold you while you cry,
To desire a day where you won't have to lie?
Do you know what it's like to beg and to plead,
For someone to help you as you break and you bleed,
To thirst for the day your suffering will end,
Or maybe even for your broken spirit to mend,
Do you know what it's like to do as I do?
Well,
Do you?
