"What were you thinking?!"

"I ju-"

"You weren't! Do you not understand how dangerous it is for you to be out there?!"

Caroline paced along the shelf of old books, anger came off her in waves, hitting me in full force.

"Caroline-"

"Don't you 'Caroline' me! I'm trying to protect you and what do you do? You sneak out and have a run in with Sebastian! He could have killed you!"

"But he couldn't. He's too weak."

Caroline stopped and glared into my eyes, "You can't make that assumption."

"Yes, I can. He stood there and watched me defeat his men, and you know what makes me stronger than him?"

"The fact that you can kill him." she replied sarcastically.

"No. The fact that I chose no to."

She looked at me, this time with confusion creasing her brows, "You mean.. You had the chance to kill him, but you didn't take it?"

I shook my head, "I have more control than you think Caroline."

Caroline's lips set in a straight line, "Doesn't mean you have to be smug about it Miss Valcourt."

With that, she left the room, anger still emanated from her body even though she had calmed down a bit. Will kneeled in front of me, silent as a mouse. I thought he would've been proud of me, for being able to control that side of me. Apparently I don't know him so well.

"Angeline, what were you thinking?"

"What do you mean?"

"You shouldn't have gone out there by yourself. If you wanted to go out, I would've gone with you."

"Gone with me? Would you have let me change?"

"Of course not, we can't risk-"

"Risk what? Revealing your precious world where I have no say about what I can and can't do? I can control myself. I can control my wolf."

"I never said-"

I stood up, massively pissed off at him.

"You know what? You might be some big bad hunter, but I don't have to listen to you."

I headed towards the front of the shop, Will following me like a lost puppy.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to find the bastard who killed my parents and make him pay with his miserable life." I reached the door and turned to face him, "Then I'm going to take what is rightfully mine. I'm going to become Pack Leader."

His eyes widened, "You can't-"

"Oh yes I can. C'est mon droit d'aînesse." (It's my birthright)
