Chapter Six: The Failed Capture

When Klaus had heard the crash he was tense, but when he turned around and saw things in complete turmoil, he was pissed. He snarled his fangs extending and the veins coming dark beneath his eyes. Kill every last one of them, he snarled mentally. Then he went to do the action he so desired. They gave off little fight at first as he was able to catch them by surprise but whatever was holding the attention of half of them was now gone so they had turned around and now were very well aware of the impending threat of death.

Klaus shoved them into furniture using anything he could as weapons. They were trained and they were fast. Not as fast as Klaus however, but coming close to it. Though they were strong and fast they seemed childlike. They possessed only the ability to kill and not the mentality needed to strategize. It took Klaus close to an hour to rid all of them he could. He was breathing heavy and blood was all over the antiques. He wasn’t the type of person who cared about furniture though. He looked at Rebekah and Elijah who both simultaneously gasped awake.

“Welcome back to the land of the living,” Klaus snarled. He heard something behind him and he turned around tense. Seeing nothing, he advanced towards the front door. Tyler was lying on his porch bleeding out as the unnerving familiar face looked at Klaus.

“I didn’t know he was back,” Stefan said with an arched eyebrow dropping the heart. Klaus couldn’t help but sigh in relief. This Stefan, though no longer obsessed with Elena, still seemed like Stefan. He didn’t seem like a void of somebody he did not know. Klaus knew Ripper Stefan and he knew Elena-loving Stefan. He was glad Stefan was still in the Elena loving zone.

“Neither did I,” Klaus said. Stefan nodded looking around then arched an eyebrow seeing Niklaus covered in blood that had a rather odd scent.

“You’re…”

“I just masskilled about fifty of whatever Tyler had summoned against me,” Klaus said. Stefan tensed slightly.

“Summoned? Against you?” he asked slowly.

“They’re not vampires for they wear no jewelry and have no fangs. They are not wolves for they do not have the glowing eyes nor the forest scent. They are not hybrids because they are complete opposites of both Vampire and Werewolf. And they are not Originals though they are as strong.”

“Travelers perhaps?”

“What in God’s name is a Traveler, Stefan?”

“It’s what my original doppelganger was,” Stefan said.

“I haven’t been in Mystic Falls for a while, Stefan. You seem to forget that. Who is your original doppelganger?”

“Silas.”

Elena groaned shaking her head walking back into her spacious dormroom. She had requested extra help from a professor but apparently she wasn’t eligible for tutoring. She sighed shaking her head placing her bag down. She furrowed her eyesbrows seeing Caroline over to where Katherine’s bed was. She carefully walked over then gasped shocked at the smell.

“Oh my god,” she said blinking. Caroline looked up from attempting to stitch together the gash in Katherine’s skull.

“Yeah,” she breathed shaking her head returning to the position of nurse which she so horribly failed at. “I think something’s wrong with her.”

“She hit her head she could be dead… Why didn’t you tell me?” Elena asked worried. Her words were rushed as she turned on her phone. It took a minute but then she realized she had countless number of missed calls from Damon. She sighed pressing his ID waiting for an answer.
