From the time the first civilization was brought into existence we all knew that some were born to succeed, while others were born to fail.
I was born to succeed, but failed miserably. To put it in simple terms, I figured this out when I was five years-old on my first day of kindergarten, a young bright eyed child thinking of all the friends I was going to make.
Then I met him.
Yes, him the one guy who single handedly ruined all that for me. His name is Riker Grae. On the first day of school he "accidently" poured milk all over me. That is what started my life of bad luck and misfortune.
Well now I guess I should tell you a little about myself. My name is Hazel Grace Lancaster... Just kidding, it's really Falin Delaine Michaels daughter of Jenna and Bennett Michaels. You might recognize the name because my father is the CEO of a multi-million dollar company. But anyways back to me. My favorite movie star is Taron Egerton, of course. I'm a junior at West Grove High school. I love books; my favorite would have to be The Probability of Miracles. I drive a 2015 Mini Cooper S. Also I'm about as appealing to guys as the white crayon is; which is not at all.
Now that that's out of the way there is one other person I must mention.
The name of said person is Rhett Ericson Collins; also known as my best and only friend in the whole wide world. He's been there for me since the first day of school. After Riker drenched me in milk Rhett was there with tissues, a towel, and a warm smile. Ever since then we stuck together.
Speaking of him I just pulled into his driveway to pick him up for school. Once he got in the car he handed me a to-go cup of coffee with the dramatic line, "Your majesty." At that I chuckled and retorted with, "Why thank you kind servant."
We were silent on the way to school which was only about ten minutes. Once we got there we headed towards the big intimidating doors of none other than high school. As we walked someone tried to purposely trip me, that person was none other than Riker; luckily Rhett caught the handle of my backpack. When I got my footing back I silently thanked Rhett; then turned to an annoyed Riker.
"You know your bodyguard won't always be there." Riker spat at me.
"For the millionth time he's not my bodyguard." I said not really caring what he had to say to me as he kept ranting. I learned to tune him out a long time ago.
After he realized I wasn't listening he rolled his eyes and trudged forward, but of course not without shoving my shoulder as he did. The kids in the hallway parted like the Red Sea as he and his minions walked towards them.
"I wish he wouldn't say that crap." Rhett said.
"I know, but-", I didn't get to finish because the bell signaling the beginning of the school day rang.
