Striker's Point of View
We drove for an entire day. I was completely exhausted, and I had Ace pick me up when I got out of my car. I laid my head on his shoulder as Tyler puts his jacket over my arms.
"Told you we should've stopped." Ace tells Tyler disapprovingly, and Tyler grumbles under his breath.
"Are you Ace? From the Crescent Moon Pack?" A voice asks, and I open my eyes to see a man with curly dark blonde hair talking to my brothers, and my brother confirms it, "Good. I'm assuming that's Tyler, your younger brother. But who is this?"
"This is my little sister, Striker." Ace replys, watching the man with the eyes of a hawk.
"I wasn't informed you had a sister." The blondd man says, caution in his voice.
"She's a witch." Tyler states impassively, "That's why. She's been under the protection of the pack since the Luna arrived."
"Really?" The man says, his lips curl in disgust, and my inner self, Light, glares at him, "Well, you can put her in one of your rooms. I'm sure she won't mind."
"You don't know what she won't mind." Tyler growls, "So just shut up and tell us where the room is."
Light grins at me, Hell yeah!
Shut up. I tell her.
"Tyler." Ace says calmly, "Calm down. He didn't mean anything by it."
"I don't care," my little brother grumbles, "I don't like the way he said that."
The man chuckles, "Pups." Before giving an amused Ace and angry Tyler instructions to the room.
Then I fell asleep.
-
The next morning when I woke up, Ace and/or Tyler was gone from the room I was in. I wasn't sure who's room they'd put me in.
On the edge if the bed was a pair of dark jean shorts, and a black shirt with my under garments. Next to the bed was a pair of leather boots.
After getting dressed, I walked into the bathroom to find my provisions all neatly placed like I like them.
So I'm sharing a room with Ace.
After freshening up, I walk out of the room, and into the hallway- smack into someone.
"Hey!" An annoying voice says, "Watch where you're going!"
I look up to see a pretty girl with blonde hair and green eyes. She was relatively short, and her nose was scrunched up cutely in her anger.
"I'm sorry." I say, hopeing she'll take that and go as I stand up.
"You better be. I'm the Luna around here, and I don't feel like dealing with a bitch like you. So get out of my way." She growls, then takes off.
"Luna?" I say to myself, "Ace didn't tell me about any Luna."
So I follow the way the girl went, and I walk into a dining room that everyone from my pack was sitting at. One person stood out though. He had blonde hair, with deep brown eyes, and he wore a plain black tee shirt with dark wash jeans and black converse. He looked to be about my age, maybe a little older. The girl from earlier- the Luna- was rubbing up all over him, and my brother looked furious. Why? I didn't know.
I don't like her... Light growls to me, and I sense her anger through our soul bond.
Before my brother could lunge, I shot a lightening bolt out my hand and burnt his food. He freezes, and I mentally scold Light. Everyone looks at me in shock.
"Striker!" Everyone in my pack cries happily. Ace and Tyler start making room for me in between them.
"How'd you sleep?" One person asks.
"You look a little pale. Are you feeling alright?" A kid about Tyler's age asks.
"What do you want to eat?" Another person asks.
More and more questions about my well being, sleep, and food are asked before I finally make it to my seat. I flash a smile, and sit, they all get quiet. When everyone's quiet, I say, "Where's the bacon?" People laugh before someone brings me a plate with bacon, eggs, biscuits, and toast.
"How come I didn't get that much food?" The Luna asks.
"Would you like some?" I ask with a smile, "I won't be eating all this anyway."
"Why?!" Everyone at the table asks.
"Because I'm not a werewolf. I don't have a stomach with a garbage disposal installed in." I laugh.
Everyone grins at my comment, before I'm handed another plate. I divide my food, and then pass it to Ace, who passes it to the Luna.
She looks at it in shock, before finally sitting down in her seat, and eating.
"So, Alpha...?" I begin.
"Alexander." He says, his voice was deep but warm at the same time, "Call me Alex."
"Alright. Alpha Alex, how long have you been mated?" I ask, taking a bite of bacon.
He chokes on whatever is in his mouth. After he swallows and breaths normally, he looks at me worriedly, "What?"
"How long have you been mated?" I repeat.
"I'm not mated." Alex says, confusion on his face, "Where did you get that idea?"
"Because she-"
"NO WHERE!" The Luna screams panicked, "She didn't hear it from anywhere."
"But you told me you were the Luna." I rush out.
"Why are you lying?!" The girl- who I assume isn't the Luna- screams. Bacon bits were stuck in her teeth from eating and they spirted everywhere.
"Striker doesn't lie." Everyone from my pack says at the same time. It was seriously starting to get creepy about how they could answer questions at all the same time.
"Ania," Alex begins, "You told her you were my mate, and the Luna?"
The chick, Ania, growls loudly at the Alpha. Before turning, and lunging at me.
Before she got within a ten feet radius of me Tyler had the girl by the neck. Ace stood up and spoke, "You may be my mate, but no one tries to hurt my sister."
Wait. Mate?
"Ace, she's your mate?" Tyler asks Ace. Ace nods, and Tyler snarls, "And you were still rubbing up on the Alpha with your mate in the same room as you!" Ace's eyes flash with hurt, and that was when I lost my temper.
Jutting my hand out, Ania flew across the room an against the wall. She grunts, "What the hell?!"
"Before you do anything rash," I say, "Make sure you know what you want. Just know, if you hurt my brother, I'll fry you like chicken." To emphasize my point, I held up my hands that had sparks jumping in it. Light giggles and claps her hands gleefully at the show of violence towards the bitch. "Got it?" Ania nods rapidly, "Good." I wink at her, and grin, before I walk out of the room with a kiss blown to both of my brothers.
-
About an hour later, I was sitting in my room with one of my old Craft books I'd gotten from my mom. It's been passed down from generation to generation. A knock on my door interrupted my reading. Alpha Alex walked in with a charming smirk on his face.
"Alpha?" I say, "Can I ask what you're doing here?"
He makes a face, "You don't have to be so formal with me, Striker. And call me Alex."
I smile at him, "Alex." He tenses, his face tight in concentration before his eyes begin to darken. My eyes widen, "Oh my. I don't think your wolf likes me being informal with you, I am so sorry."
Alex shakes his head, his eyes lightening, "No. It's quite the opposite." Before I get a chance to ask what he meant, he's gliding over to my bed gracefully, "What are you reading?"
"An old Craft book that's been passed down from daughter to daughter. Kind've like the Alpha position is passed down from son to son." I explain, looking back at the book.
He reaches for it, and when I look at him, he grins sheepishly, "May I?" I nod, and hand him it. He studied it for a mintue, before groaning and handing it back to me, "It hurts my brain."
I laugh at his pout, "It normally does confuse a werewolf a great deal, unless they condition themselves to read it. Ace and Tyler are the only wolves I know that can read my books. And Tyler can only read a little bit here and there. It really doesn't help that his English grade is a C anyway, so the language of my people really isn't good for him to learn." I laugh again, "I remember when he was a kid and he wanted to learn it. It took him an entire month to even learn the ABC's. Ace can read it fluently, but he's not too good with the older versions of it."
"How did you become a witch?" Alex asks curiously.
"You don't become a witch." I say, "You're born one. And some people don't even find out what they are, so they live as humans. But my mom knew from the mintue she first looked at me that I was going to be a witch."
"How?" He asks, scooting a little closer unconsciously. Normally, I'd scoot back, but I oddly didn't mind.
Neither do I. Light purrs, That boy is yummy.
"My biological father is a Dark warlock, my mother is a Light witch. There was no way for me not to be a witch. It was an arranged marriage, anyway, by their parents. Normally Dark and Lights stay away from eachother. It was a contract. But the entire thing was forfeited the mintue my mother found out she was the mate to an Alpha wolf. She'd had Ace first with him, but my father thought that Ace was his. Then my father got really drunk and raped my mother, just cause he wanted to. While Dad wanted to kill Jonathon, he didn't because Mom begged him not to. She said she didn't want him dead. But one day, Dad showed up for my fifth birthday, and Jonathon caught them kissing. An entire fight broke out which ended in us finally leaving. And low and behold, Mom was pregnant with Tyler. He was the first child that was exclaimed to the entire pack, and the pack knew our story. To say I've been protected for the last seventeen years would be an understatement."
He chuckles at my joke, then grows serious, "Well I'm sorry that happened to you."
And he's sweet too! Light exclaims, her lip poking out as if she was looking at an adorable puppy.
I shake my head, "It's the past. Doesn't matter. And it's not like I grew up miserable. Martin is way more of a man and a dad than my biological one could ever be."
Alex nods, "My step mother was way better than my real mother too."
"So your biological parents weren't mates? If you don't mind me asking."
Alex shakes his head, "Nah. They were actually just fuck buddies in highschool. And then my mother got pregnant. Dad didn't know what to do. He actually freaked out. But Mom, his real mate, bitch slapped him- literally, and told him to raise me like a man. When he asked what she thought of raising a son that wasn't hers, she rolled her eyes and punched him in the nose. Telling him if she looked like she gave a fuck. That the mintue I was born, I was just as much her son as I was his."
"Your mom sounds like she was a noble woman." I smile.
He looks at me weirdly, "She's still alive, doll."
I feel my cheeks heat, "Oh. I'm sorry. I just thought-"
Alex laughs, "Yeah I know. I thought she'd die too when my pops died. She locked herself in her room for a week. But then, when I was going to have the Alpha ceremony, she appeared out of the house looking just like she did. I'd only ever seen her cry at my dad funeral, and now she doesn't even frown anymore."
"Most people hide their sadness behind smiles and happiness." I say, after hearing my mom say it all the time.
Alex grins at me, "Yeah, I know. I think that's what she's doing too. But you'll love her. You've got spunk in you too. I think she'd love you."
I smile, "You know, you're pretty cool."
And pretty hot, Light purrs. I mentally rolls my eyes at her.
"Only to you, doll." He winks, "I could never be mean to your pretty face." I'm used to being told I'm pretty, but when Alex said it, my face heated up, and I ducked down so he wouldn't see it. But he apparently thought it was funny, because he laughs, before saying, "So are you going to relieve my curiosity and read from the book?"
I nod, "In English, right?"
"Another time." He grins, "I want to hear this lauguage of your people first."
I grin back at him, before looking at the book, and beginning to read, "Iš pradžių buvo du raganos. Tamsiai sesuo ir šviesos sesuo ..."
