She sat in her room
Wondering if it'll get better soon

She is alone and in pain
The society she lives in is no longer sane.

She was told to be skinny
For that was the only way she would be pretty.

She believed them and their lies
But no one ever heard her cries.

So she started to starve
and when that didn't work
she began to carve

You could see her ribs, hip bones & all
But they kept on going
with the cruel words that they called.

She was used and abused.

She peered through her phone
At the comments shown

"Bitch, Slut, Freak, Fat Whore!"

They scarred her, badly,
down to the core

She looked in the mirror
with nothing but disgust

She must get skinnier she must.

She knew only one escape
From her terrible fate

She wished for freedom
In a gold and white kingdom

She needed release
From the world that knows no peace

She sat in her room, the knife by her side
With crimson red
dripping down her arms and thighs.

They use to laugh and call her shit
That she needed to be fit

So she became a stick, yet the remarks remained
And all that did was drive her insane

Her heart grew weak
Waiting for the light that she seeked

She use to laugh and smile real bright
Then all she did was give up her fight

"No more pain"

"No more fears"

"No more shame"

"No more tears"

She said with her first shining smile in an eternity
Knowing the darkness will come she is in serenity

She closed her eyes, feeling safe
Finally leaving this hell of a place

She believed she was fat, ugly and unloved
Now she gets to watch from heaven above

~

So now I sit in my room..
Wondering if it'll get better soon...
