It was only about the time of Asr.
I looked out my window at the world which re-affirmed Allah as Witr.
And that every other thing may be Shafr.
The sight of a dove landing on my roof jolted me into Tafakkur.
My mind flying wild, breaking from its shackle.
Were it that i would be like you, O bird, as did wish Abubakr.
Or that i be of those matyred in gazwatul Badr.
For as long as i take out of life's each breath i fear both the great and small of Kufr.
Ya Allah, if there is any then please purge my heart of Kibr.
My cry to You for hours has made my eyes now heavy and dizzy.
I fall on my bed with my eyes so sleepy.
My eyes shut slowly hoping to re-awaken at Fajr.
