Roof Top

I sat on the edge of the roof.

Luckily my mother nor my older brother was their to scold me to get off. I had the house alone with grandma and Snickers, our dog. Grandma didn't mind. Besides she was at our neighbor's house trying to brag about what's happening in our family.

Anyways, it was a peaceful afternoon. It was close to sundown and our roof had a beautiful view. The sun was bright orange, and the clouds seemed to move quickly than usual. The wind did go a little strong, making me a bit uneasy on the roof. I held on, ofcourse. Nobody could get me down from here now.

I looked down to the book I was reading. It was about a girl in world where there were talking chess pieces, flowers and even Humpty Dumpty. It did seem a bit late to read about it but it was now or never.

Suddenly, the wind blew a bit too hard and I almost lost my balance. It made me remember about the story about a girl being sent off to a world after a tornado.

I looked around. No tornadoes but a boring, quiet neighborhood.

Then again, the wind hit hard almost knocking me off my seat. I cursed to myself and decided to get off the roof. Somebody had arrived to the door, I didn't get to see who it was. Quickly I stood up and then the wind blew hard again.

Immediately, I fell.
