Since it was summer, your dad decided to send you to Korea by yourself for the first time to spend the vacation with your grandparents. You were a half Korean half British and you lived with your parents in London but visited your grandparents in Busan from time to time.
You were already 16 y.o so your parents figure it's about time for you to start depending on yourself, that's how you ended up at gimpo airport in Seoul, you were so tired to travel again from Seoul to Busan so you just called your friend "Yeonju":
