We all held hands in a circle, surrounding the pentagram. Two points were facing up. There were candles placed at each point of the star and Jacob sat in the middle.
"I don't think we should do this," I said finally, expelling what I'd been holding in for so long. The others scoffed and looked at each other.
"You chicken?" Maia taunted. I didn't say anything after that. The candles in the room flickered and I began to get nervous. Jacob started the seance(even thought this isn't how you do them) and the room became cold. The candles went out. I drew my hand back.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Kara hissed. I'd been holding her hand. My head filled with whispers and voices. I put my hands up to cover my ears.
"STOP!" I screamed.

Faith Mallion is first and foremost Christian, even if she doesn't want to be. It's been all she's ever known. She goes to church and even goes to a religious school. Until her mother leaves. Then, her dad is left to support her and her brother and can't pay for her religious school. She goes to her first public school, where she meets people who aren't of any religion, where she can dress how she wants.
While at her new school she meets a band of people who are so different from anyone she's ever met. They are dark and have tattoos. And one of them happens to worship Satan. This doesn't get to Faith until the night of The Pentagram. The night no one will forget.
