Alicia typed away, fingers working fast as she tried to finish the latest chapter of her book before she had to leave the cafe to go to work. "What are you doing Ali?"
The voice was firm and full of confidence. She knew that voice anywhere. "Just finishing up a chapter Steph..." She mumbled, quickly closing the laptop before her best friend could get a glance at what she had written.
"Aw, no fair! Why can't I read your new chapter? I am your best friend after all right?" Steph said, her tone laced with sadness. It was almost convincing..
"You know you have to wait like everyone else. Besides you have to hurry or you'll be late for practice." Steph looked confused before realization dawned upon her. "Crap! I'm gonna be late! Later Ali!"
She sprinted out, dropping her phone in the process. Alicia smiled to herself, gently picking up the phone and turning it in her hands. "Always forgetful." She whispered to herself, before returning to her laptop, beginning to type once again.
