The Surrogate

Chapter 1

Caleb had just gotten up from bed immediately he got a call from his mother informing him about his father's birthday celebration scheduled for the weekend. It was hard to tell her he won't be available. She was among the few people he cared for, he didn't even realize when he said,
"I'll be there mum and I'll  try and get him  a present, dad has been saying he wants a camera". She replied happily "thanks son, I love you".....
Caleb was confused about how he was gonna cancel on Richard his bestfriend.. He wondered" how am I gonna tell him I won't be available for his sisters wedding, I just  have to call in sick on that day, I hope  he forgives me".
Caleb headed to the bathroom for a quick shower he needed to get ready for work... 20 minutes later he was ready and his driver drove him to his hospital. The hospital was just a 10 minutes drive from the estate he stayed in so it didn't take long getting there. He got down and headed in, and he bumped into Richard. Richard was a medical doctor in Caleb's hospital too .. "Hey man!! I gotta go I have something to attend  to... Richard exclaimed walking hastily, he turned  and asked lunch later?"Yes, sure" Caleb said, he wondered how he was gonna tell Richard he won't make it, he hated lying to him. "This is when I wished I could be at two places at once, too bad" .. Caleb headed to his office he had an appointment with a patient by 10am which was in two hours time........
