Chapter Two
I groaned as I dragged myself out of the airport with Brayden. I had slept the remainder of the flight, and I'm damn sleepy, hungry too, because I fell asleep while the attendants handed out complementary food. Brayden HAD to be a fat ass, and ate all of my food.
Vampires could still taste human food, but it was more bland than blood. D
I had occasionally bumped into a few people while coming out. Probably because I was drowsy and half asleep. Some people were hasty to get to their terminal, so they got irritated and scowled at me as i bumped into them and some of the businessmen mutter profanities which Brayden gladly told me.
"I have a few friends here in Toronto. I'll call a cab to take us to their house." Brayden announced before taking out his phone and dialing a number.
The cab came pretty fast, and soon we were off to who know's where. I looked out of the window. It was early morning, around seven o'clock. The sky was a light pink, turning into blue. Odd, right?
Birds cawed as they flew into the distance, and cars honked as they fought for lanes. Large, tall and magnificent buildings was all this city was made of. Especially the two condos near Square One. Their design were so unique and intense. The buildings looked like they were going to topple over at any moment. It was like an illusion, the twists an turns of the small patio each condo had. Each window varied from light teal, to turquoise, to blue, then a light green, and a few white.
We soon reached a secluded house, concealed from civilization by the surrounding forests filled with trees. The small trail we were traveling on was filled with gravel and fallen leaves. The house wasn't fit for the forest. It was more of a mansion really; and it looked like it belongs around those rich neighbourhoods in Hollywood. Cliché, huh? A rich vampire with a mansion in a secluded forest.
When I studied Slayerology, it was said that vampires had ways of achieving money; illegal or not. That earned them the label 'Rich-Ass Vamps.' They also liked to purchase secluded houses; so that hunting was easier and made them less questionable.
As I stepped out of the cab, Brayden carrying my bags, I instantly snapped out of my drowsiness as I marveled at the huge place.
The mansion was beautiful. There were four white pillars at the entrance, a little triangular roof on top of it. The mahogany double doors complimented the surrounding white walls. Three balconies with black fences were on the second and third floor. Windows were scattered all around the mansion, and a quad garage was to the right. I was rich, but haven't seen a mansion this big!
"What kind of people do you hang out with?"
Brayden lightly slapped me. "Quite drooling. I hang out with my vamps." he complained after he paid the driver, and casually went on.
-
"Brayden, I see you dropped in with a new lady." A man emphasized smugly as he let Brayden and me in.
"I'm not his lady, nothing of his." I groaned, almost face palming myself.
"Single and feisty, huh?"he teased.
"Oh shut up." I growled, irritated.
In a blur, he was in front of my, kneeling down. "Kasper at your service." he introduced, and kissed my hand. I couldn't help but blush, since I haven't had male company in a long time.
Kasper was, I hate to admit, good looking; attractive. His raven black hair was side swept, as if there was a slight breeze. His eyes were a vivacious purple, giving an electric feel. He was tall, six foot one at least. Kasper was wearing a dress shirt with a few buttons left loose, and skins jeans on. He looked elegant but laid back.
