But Who? Chapter Five

Draco's POV

I wake up laying next to Ainslynn in the hospital wing when Madam Pomfrey wants to check up on her. I notice that Ainslynn's chest isn't rising, so the nurse checks and makes me leave. Is she not breathing? Could I have done something in my sleep that made her not breathe? When I get out of the wing Crabbe, Goyle, and Zabini are waiting for me, they want to know what is going on but even I don't know. Professor Dumbledore and Snape come outside where I have been sitting all day saying that until Ainslynn gets better that I am excused from lessons. Snape said it was his idea because he saw how I was doing in Potions without her and he thought that it wasn't fair in anyway that I had to suffer while my girlfriend is between life or death as we speak.

"Professor, have you gotten any updates about her? Madam Pomfrey won't let me in." I ask.

"She is breathing on her own again. She needs her rest because Madam Pomfrey had to do some really serious stuff but she is well. I give you special permission to visit with her as much as you want. I will have the house elves move a bigger bed where Ainslynn's is so you guys can be together. If she wakes up throughout the night inform Madam Pomfrey as soon as you can. She will be in the little room in the back corner. It is time for breakfast now, so if you don't mind I will walk with you down and then I will walk you back up once we are done." Professor Dumbledore says.

"Thank you so much. My mother and father and Ainslynn's mum are furious, you know father will do something about that Parkinson. He thinks of Ainslynn as the daughter he never had and that is why he gave us permission to become a couple. He will be here later today to come and visit." I say.

"Yes Draco, I know that your parents and Ainslynn's mum are mad. He wrote to me late last night. It was my idea to have him come see, and have a talk with Ms.Parkinson." Dumbledore says.

We make it to the Great Hall for breakfast when I see Pansy sitting in my usual spot with a space open to the right of her. I sit with Flint and the rest of the Quidditch team so I don't have to deal with her. Flint asks how Ainslynn is doing because he needs a chaser for the game in exactly one month. I tell him what happened when I woke up and that Pomfrey had to do some serious stuff to help her get better. Also I tell him that I won't be in classes or the common room until she is better. He thinks that that's really cool and that he wants me to send his get wells with me. Dumbledore comes and gets me so we can make our way to the hospital wing.When we get there I see Ainslynn is sitting up in bed wide awake with a smile on her face when she sees me. I walk up and give her a kiss on the cheek and tell her that I was worried sick and what Flint had said. She seems so much better but we are keeping her in here for at least a week to make sure nothing happens again. For the next five days we work on homework that McGonagall and Snape sent up and then we heard three people walk in the room. It was mum, father, and Ainslynn's mum. Mrs. Jackson runs over to Ainslynn and kisses her then grabs her hand, my mum and father give Ainslynn a kiss on the forehead and go to talk to Madam Pomfrey who has brought Pansy and Snape in.

"Why is she in here! She almost killed my girlfriend and now you are letting her right next to her! Get her out of here now!" I say mad.

"Draco, she is in here so I can have a talk with her." Father says.

Pansy looks like she is going to either throw up or pass out.

"Ms. Parkinson, why did you try to kill Ainslynn. What has she done to you. Professor Snape brought some truth potion so you can't lie to me." Father says.

She starts to talk about why, "So her and Draco went to the common room. Draco was upstairs and she was sitting on the chair. She knew I liked Draco from the first day on the train and she wouldn't leave him alone. She kissed him right in front of me and he kissed back. I wanted to kill her so then Draco would go to me instead of the Mudblood."
