Tucker Jenkins In Topshop
29 August 2016
It is a hot day today, the geraniums smell beautiful in the park. I am walking to work. I love my job, I get to sell beautiful clothes to beautiful people and their purse bearing mothers!!!.
It is amazing how many lovely teenagers I meet. They are all so excited to be buying my lovely leggings and bomber jackets. I also sell lipstick to them and diamond necklaces on long chains.
The black strappy shoes are really in at the moment, I try them on before the shop opens – I am allowed to as I am the manager!!!.
I walk up and down as if I was on a catwalk.
Upstairs we have the mens department, it is always quiet up there in the week, as men don't really like to go shopping. However there are some lovely clothes, lovely grey jumpers and tight jeans.
Christmas is always the time we sell the most stuff.
Last Christmas there was a man that came in, he was a punk, and had red spiky hair in a Mohican. Most of the younger shop assistants were laughing at him, so I ended up serving him, however he spent about £250 pounds on jeans and shoes!.
The girls were so jealous when I told them, so now when we get someone in who is a bit out of the ordinary, they are all falling over each other to serve them!.

You will never believe who has just walked into the shop! It is Tucker Jenkins from Grange Hill, I'm not sure you'll remember him, but he was on childrens tv in the 1970's and 80's. He is looking at jeans and t-shirts, and has a little girl with him who looks very bored.
"Can I help you sir?" I ask
"Yes please, I'd like a pair of beige shorts please" he asked.
We don't have many beige shorts in at the moment, but I am sure there are some round the back so I tell him, and scoot off to the store room.
The store room is an aladdins cave of brightly coloured shirts, shoes that are in all shapes and sizes and lots of boxes and hangers and shelves.
I look on the top shelf of one of the units and sure enough I find a pair of beige trousers.
I bring them to him, and he gives me a huge grin and pays with his credit card. I whisper to him that I would like his autograph and he obliges.
It has been a good day at work today.
