It was a small venue and he was glad for that , having already grown tired of all the big Sports arenas, with all the fans screaming their heads off so that he could barely hear himself think much less play.

The Beatles were back in Liverpool , playing a small concert in a relatively small atmosphere , but regardless of that fact the girls were still screaming their heads off.

Seriously why couldn't they just shut up and listen to the music already???!!!

This was what he was thinking as his eyes scanned the room, and then his eyes fell on her, standing there, quietly listening or trying to listen to him sing.

She was sweet and demure, very subdued compared to the screaming chaos all around her.

She stood there quietly hanging onto every word of the song he was singing, which was, "And I love her"

Every few minutes she would lower her gaze, as if she was afraid to let him see her eyes, and it was if she had done this every day of her life. He wanted to get a better look at her eyes,  they were blue, or at least he thought they were. It was really hard to tell from the lights,  and the way she kept diverting her eyes.

He wished he could talk to her,  tell her how beautiful she was. She looked so shy,  and scared. Scared of what? He wanted to stop singing,  throw his hofner Bass down and hold her in his arms,  and protect her from whatever she was afraid of,  but the song ended and he had to take his bow along side the other Beatles.

Then the curtains closed and she was gone. His insides screamed NO!!  I CAN'T LOSE HER LIKE THIS!!

He raced to the side of the stage,  and tried to peer out from the curtain without letting everyone out there see him.

John,  George and Ringo just stared at him as if he'd lost his mind,  but Paul didn't care.

He looked all around but he couldn't see her. It was too late,  cause she was gone,  but as he was about to give up and lower the curtain and walk away,  she appeared.

She came shyly walking back,  eyes not on the stage,  which was now hidden by the heavy curtain,  but on the seats,  and finally reaching that which she was looking for,  her hand bag.

Once again Paul's excitement rose inside him.

" Hey you there! Please stop!"

She froze,  and slowly turned in the direction from which that voice had come from.

Once more Paul saw fear in her eyes.

" Please come here,  I'm not gonna hurt you!" Paul pleaded,  as she slowly made her way over to him.

She stopped in front of him,  and lowered her eyes,  then shyly looking back up at him.

" What's your name luv?"
" Laura."
" Laura,  what a lovely name. Would you like to come backstage? There's snacks back here,  and drinks."
" Well I don't know,  I...you....you're gonna hurt me,  I can't!!" She looked like she was going to run.
" Laura,  I swear to you I won't hurt you,  nobody will,  will we lads??"

By now the other three were standing near him.

" No,  of course not!!" John said,  as the other two chimmed in their agreements.
" As a matter of fact.....hey Cyn,  come here a tic please?" John called over to the side of the stage,  where his wife appeared.

" Yes John."
" Please come assure this bird that no one is gonna hurt her. Paul wants to talk to her but she's scared."

" Oh hello there,  what's your name?"
" Laura."
" Well Laura,  no one is gonna hurt you,  so it's safe,  come on. My name is Cynthia,  but everyone just calls me Cyn."

Paul reached out his hand and Laura took it and walked through the curtain,  and to the backstage area.

Looking into her eyes,  which Paul was now certain that were blue,  the most beautiful blue eyes he had ever seen,  he knew that this was the girl for him,  and something in those blue eyes told him that she knew it too.

Well I had this idea and I couldn't resist going ahead and publishing it!  Tell me what you think so far??!!  Be back soon with chapter 2!
