Ever since I was little kid, my mom would always tell me how cute I was when I was a baby. She said that my skin was like that of snow, lips as red as blood and eyes that were blue just like a cold summer night.

She said I was a perfect little girl, but, I was unsure of that.

Growing up, I never had any friends, not a single soul dared to enter our house and make friends with me. It was sad, but I became used to it, anyway.

The kids that was at the same age as me that time never approached me, well, they tried. But my parents would always drive them off.

So I decided to make friends with... err... people?

One summer vacation, I went to grandma's house. My parents sent me there to stay. Then and there I first met one of my friends – his name was Envy.

"Come on, Amazing Grace. Let's play." Said my cousin, she was at my age, her name was Madeline. I cringed upon hearing her call me by my full name. We were both sixteen that time.

"Just call me Amy," I deadpanned.

We went inside her room, unlike mine, her room was like that of the room of rich children you see in movies. I was surprised to see a lot of stuffed toys on her bed, which I wasn't allowed to play when I was still little.

I used to play with modelling clays and coloring books, but when I saw how she caress the head of her stuffed toys... Envy started whispering things to me.

He whispered a lot of things in my head, most of them, I don't understand. I kept neglecting what he's saying that time. But the following day, when her parents came home with a new teddy bear for her collection... that was when Envy became my friend.

Two months later, Mom called over the phone to inform us – me and my grandparents – that I will be attending college at the community university near grandma's place. I was fuming mad at their decision.

"What?! You'll just throw me away to some public school? I hate you!" I shouted on the phone and threw the gadget towards the wall and immediately hurried back to my room.

"Amy!" I heard Grandma's voice, but I still continued marching.

Inside my dark room, covered in sheets, I started to cry.

"Amy, you should go and apologize to your mom for shouting at them," it was Grandma's sweet voice.

"No," I firmly said, "They deserved that, I did not do anything wrong."
