Lily-Belle's POV

Living with the world's most unusual and strictest parents is a nightmare for a girl trying to survive high-school. Everyone has the biggest and wildest dreams, but all girls have an extra thing added to that list; to be normal. Normal in high-school is the most honourable achievement to make, it's probably considered equal to the honour of getting knighted. Maybe a couple of girls have reached it, but it is like climbing a rope. Once you're up there, you have to be able to hang on. Anyway, the day this happened the chances of becoming normal increased 10%.

When I woke up that morning, I got into the same routine as always. I took my make-up bag, which I normally kept taped under the bed (to prevent my parents from finding it) and I discreetly placed it in my school bag. I had to get rid of some books, because it wouldn't fit. I put my school uniform on, the way it's meant to be worn, and I  went downstairs for breakfast.

I walked in the kitchen and grabbed a banana, just about to walk out the door but then...

"Hold it right there." Demanded my undebatably annoying mother.

"What?" I asked as I turned around.

The woman scanned my face, and nodded. This meant she knew for sure I hadn't left the house with make-up. She then looked down to my skirt, which was just below the knee, for now.

"Good girl." She said as she pecked my cheeked and waved good-bye.

Once I heard the door shut, I started power-walking to my local train station, and went into the girls bathroom. I looked at my uniform in the mirror and sighed. After pulling my skirt up, and loosening my tie I then took out my make-up bag.

I must admit, I could do much better, but to fit into a school for chavs like mine you had to go with this: caked foundation, thick eyeliner, heavy mascara and to top it off, a large amount of bronzer.

Once done fidgetting with my hair, I peeled my banana, and ate it on the way to school.
