Driving, trees pass by, the sky was such a deep blue, it seemed like it would go on forever.

Clink cling cling

A long, white mobile trailer rolled down the highway, the wind chimes outside of it clinking peacefully in the early morning air. Inside the trailer a tall, slim pale girl with long, straight black hair and eyes a misty blue sat with her mother, an aging women with greying hair. "We're here !" The older lady cheered as they passed a rickety sign reading,

"Welcome to Spring Brook, we hope you enjoy your stay." The teenage girl rolled her eyes,

"It's not like we're going to be staying very long."

"Aw Vic don't be like that honey, I promised you I'd let you finish the last two years of high school here, and I plan to keep my promise Victoria." She said with a proud smile. Victoria sighed and looked out the window at the small town they were passing full of large houses and small stores, she had to admit she was a little bit excited.

"Okay Rena, okay...so where are we going to park the trailer?"

"Hmm, I was thinking maybe by the lake, ah yes here we are !" Rena said with a grin towards her daughter as they looked out at the grey lake and fresh green grass.

After unpacking, Victoria took a blanket outside and laid it down by the lake, she readjusted her red bathing suit that contrasted greatly against her features and laid down on the blanket, closing her eyes against the harsh sunlight. After several minutes of silence Vic started to feel strange, like a thousand eyes were on her, like someone was staring at her. With a gasp she opened her light blue eyes and met a pair of chocolate brown oculars staring down at her.

"Ah !" She screamed as she bolted upwards and knocked heads with the nerdy boy above her.

"Hey that hurt !"

"Hey I don't care !! What the fuck are you doing in my yard ?!" Vic cried, jumping up, her pale feet burning against the hot grass. The boy looked back at the trailer, his eyes focused on the strange wind chime.

"Are you a witch ?" He asked curiously, turning his curious eyes to the pale girl.

"Who even are you ?!"

"Oh sorry I'm Ethan Bolt, pleasure to make your aquitence, you didn't answer my question."

Victoria sighed and rolled her eyes, crossing her arms annoyed at her unwanted visitor,

"For your information Mr. Ethan Bolt I'm a gypsy, not a witch there's a difference." Ethan frowned and looked back up at the wind chimes,

"Are those like baby bones?"

"No you idiot there bird bones!" She snapped angrily.

"Jeez sorry, so what kind of gypsy shit do you do ? Virgin sacrifices and stuff ?"

"Oh yeah totally, you look like a virgin wanna come to the woods with me ?" She asked sarcastically.

"So are you gonna go to the high school ?"

"That's the plan."

"I never caught your name!" Victoria sighed,
"Its Victoria Bactna."

"Interesting last name."

"Thanks I guess." She replied awkwardly,

"I live up on the hill over there." Ethan said with a grin as he looked out over the lake.

"Oh great neighbors." She said with a deep frown. Ethan sighed and clenched his fists nervously,
"So uh, if you ever need anything, like sugar or you know pig blood you can just come knock, I'll probably be home cuz i have no life ... " He said, rubbing the back of his neck and smiling sheepishly at her. Victoria tossed her long, straight black hair behind her and stared at him with a fierce look from her pale blue eyes.

"Thanks I guess."

"Oh and I'll probably be seeing you at school so maybe we could get together at lunch or -"

"Yeah probably not, nice to meet you Ethan Bolt." Victoria interrupted, walking up the stairs to her trailer and slamming the door behind her.

Ethan sighed and turned towards the lake with a frown, he looked down and saw that his white and blue beat up tennis shoes were standing on Victoria's blanket and slowly stepped away,

"You forgot your blanket." He called before trudging up the hill back to his house.

From inside her trailer Victoria peeked through the beat up blinds at Ethan, and smirked satisfied as he left.

"What was that about plum ?" Rena asked her daughter as she folded blankets and put them up in shelves, the smell of baking bread wafting through the small trailer.

"Just nosey neighbors, asking me if we were witches. " Vic said with a sly smile. Rena laughed and shook her head, "The things people will say."

"So are you ready for school tomorrow Vic ?"

"I guess so, but it's like I can sense something here."

"Like what ?"

"Like... evil..." Vic admitted with a frown as she peeked through the windows again, her lips pursing in worry.
