So for the past couple weeks our usual excited and happy Finn hasn't been feeling like himself. He brought most of his stuff to my house because his mom actually kicked him out. After going back home for some reason he saw her and she had wine bottles and cigarettes everywhere. The whole living room was a mess. Food was on the floor. HIs mother was completely wasted on the couch with vomit all over her mouth. Finny felt bad for not being there for her and basically abanding her because it was too much for him. He tried to wake her up, along with me helping, to get her into a bath because she reeked of alcohol. Once he had her settled and I cleaned the living room she started yelling at him. She had fully woken up and was completely appalled by him. She cringed from his touch and yelled at him to get all of his stuff and leave her house. I helped him put the rest of his valuables in my mom's car before Finn's mom started to throw things. He cried that night in the shower and didn't even want to do anything except for sleep in his big red hoodie all day. I haven't really been in a suitation like that before and he's the usually the one giving me advice so I was just there for him. I offered him tea, tv shows/movies, and anything else he wanted. After all he was one of my best friend and I knew how to cheer him up. But nothing really seemed to be working. So today I offered that Jared, Finn, and I have a guy's night out. We hadn't really had time to go out since school work was pileing up, the internship was making me get home later than planned, and I was just too busy. It was basically time to stop stressing over things and relax. Especially for Finn's benefit. We took him to one of his favorite clubs in the city. I could tell he was starting to feel better up until he saw Daniel dancing with some guy. It was pretty clear that Daniel had gotten over his "oh I still love you, baby" "you're the only one for me" feelings quickly by the way he was grinding. I asked Finn to see if he was okay, he said he was but I still kept close tabs on him. Ijust mostly sat at the bar because I wasn't into the club scene. He started to dance with other boys but you could still see his eyes traveling over to Daniel. Eventually, it was too much for him to bare so we left. We stopped at an ice cream shop and walked around to find something else to do when Ace called. He wasn't too big on texting and besides he told me "he loves the sound of my voice."
-
"Hey, Ty." his voice was like music to my ears. Something about hearing his voice today just made me feel happy. I walked outside of the ice cream shop to talk to him a little privately. I don't know what it was, I just liked to savor our conversations.
"Hey, you." I tried to sound casual.
I could practically hear the smile crossing his face. He always smiled when he talked to me or just looked at me. After weeks I've knowing each other I just picked it up---with of course Momo's help. "Are doing anything right now?"
I looked through the window of the shop. Finn and Jared were sitting on the table stools talking and what looked like smiling. God, I really hoped Finny was smiling again. I missed it. "Yeah. We're in the city eating ice cream. It's our boy's night out. I wanted to treat Finn."
"Sounds like you need a little more fun. How about you guys come to my apartment? I'm having a early Halloween party. for those of us who can't celebrate on the actual Halloween day." After a moment's pause he said, "It'd be really nice if you came too."
I smiled. "Well, Ace. If you wanted me there so bad you could've just said so." Jared and Finn came out of the store, rolling their eyes because they knew exactly who I was talking to. "Well, I'll have to ask my friends," I held the phone from my ear, "Do you guys wanna go to Ace's apartment for a Halloween party?"
Finn shrugged. "As long as there are boozes and comfy couches I'll be fine. What do you think Mr. Jared?"
He nodded. "Seems like a swell idea, Mr.Finn."
It was my turn to roll my eyes. Damn theater arts kids. "Yeah. We'll come but what about costumes?"
"Don't worry you'll be fine, I'll see you in about an hour then?"
"Yeah, I'll see you then, honey." I hung up to see my wonderful friends making a playful grimace. I know, I know they had told me before that Ace and I were sickening. Even if we weren't dating, just friends that had sex at least three times, it didn't mean anything.

We drove to Ace's apartment. He greeted us at the door witha sum of people walking around, talking, drinking, dancing in Halloween costumes. And here I thought I was too old to have Halloween costumes. Jared was gawking at all the attractive people and eventually wandered to the wine and to mingle. Finn had immediately brightened up at the unfamiliar setting. When I sure he was ok I left to go talk to Ace. He led me to the couch where I was a little weary of because Ariel and his roomate had sex on it. I wasn't too fond of sitting on it. I started to rant about Finn and how he was feeling. Then about different things until he had told me he was glad to see me. I hadn't really been paying too much attention to him at the internship and I was too busy to meet him anywhere. The only reason he had the Halloween party was to bring me there (and partly because his roomate wanted to throw one). He told me that since my New York interview with my dream school was after Thanksgiving he wanted to take me there himself. That way we would have more tiime together and be able to hang out. I asked Ace if it was really okay with the expenses but he said we would split half of everything that way we would be able to afford everything. I was so happy that I kissed.( Not like I full blown make out but a peck on the lips,) and gave him a hug. Before I could do anymore a guy came up to us. He was a little taller than me from what I saw. A bit muscular. Obviously dyed blonde hair.
-He was holding a wine glass when I first noticed him coming towards us. "ACE!" the man said with such happiness it made me sick. I expected his voice to be high pitched but it wasn't super low either. In the middle. I expected Ace to be shocked and really calm about everything. Not have as equal excitement.
"Riley! I haven't seen you in ages." they hugged really quickly, then did that two kisses on the cheek thing. I never really did like that. I could tell that Riley was the eccentric type.
Riley looked at me with a smirk. It wasn't even a hungry smirk or one of those rude looks people do. It was more out of interest and curiousity. "Ace, darling, I didn't think you forgot your manners. Who's your new friend?"
"Oh!" Ace said as if he completely forgot me but just remebered I was there. Obviously this Riley had made him forget about me. I was irrevalant. "Riley, this is my friend Tyler NightLock. Tyler this is my ex-boyfriend Riley Cooper." That stress on friend really hurt. We both exchanged hellos before Ace and Riley walked away to talk.
Finn casually came from across the room to sit next to me. A beer bottle in hand with his eyes afteer Riley. "Wow. Who was that?"
"Ace's ex-boyfriend."
"Oh, some competion," he said taking a swig from the bottle.
-
I wouldn't like to think of Riley showing up as competion considering he was just Ace's ex-boyfriend. Then again Ace did kind of forget about my exsistence after seeing him. I shouldn't even be worried about it Anyway, after about twenty minutes Ace came back. He asked me if I wanted to spend the night but I said no because I didn't want my mom to worry too much. He smiled at me and agreed. After about anothe hour me, Finn, and Jared left the apartment. Jared managed to pull a couple numbers from some guys and girls. Also, Finn told me that he went to go investigate about Riley and he found out from Ace's roomate, Delia, that it was definintely his ex and that they were cool and basically best friends. I don't know how I feel about this Riley character but if he's going to be in Ace's life then I'll be fine. Like i said, we're not in a relationship anyway.
