The bell rang for the end of school; everyone was looking round for the bully
Jack because always at the end of the day he would scare someone. I got the feeling it was going to be me as he sniggered and pointed at me as I passed him in the playground.
It was me.
Jack started approaching me like a predator stalking his prey. Unfortunately I was his prey. I suppose I was waiting for this ever since he insulted me and I threw my lunch over his head. I screamed and started to fake cry as he stood near me so everyone would think he had slapped me round the face knowing him it would look like a typical thing Jack would do
"You do that again and I'll make you wish you'd never been born," snarled Jack.
"What you gonna do about it," I snarled, that did it for him.
He snapped. His fist was about to connect with my face. I had punched him. That was it; I knew I could not escape without him doing something back at me. I ran. I kept running, running, until I caught my leg in a root and ended up getting tangled up. I tried to free myself, struggling as well as screaming.
Only when I heard his footsteps close behind me did I finally manage to get free. My foot hurt but I still kept running knowing that I could never get back if I went any further but I did and so did he. Suddenly I saw a house in the distance; I knew that if I managed to get there I would be safe. Faster and faster I ran, the house looming ever nearer. I stole a glance behind me, he wasn't there, and I was scared. Sprinting inside I was able to slam the door behind and fumble for the lock, only just managing to catch my breath as I did so.
A bang, behind me; I was forced to turn only to be greeted by darkness and a foul unearthly stench. I wasn't sure that I was alone. Had Jack beaten me here? Was the whole idea to get me here? What would he do to me? I started to walk; well, creep, is probably a more accurate word for it. I wanted to find a light switch my hands slowly running along the smooth wall paper. For several minutes I had no luck but then a light flickered in the distance another room far away I could not see. Glued to the bricks, I slithered along to find the source, a poorly decorated kitchen with just one feeble bulb swinging limply from the ceiling.
I heard banging on the door I had just come through. My heart missed a beat.
"For Gods sake Poppy open up." bellowed Jack.
"Fine then don't let me in. I will just barge down the door," demanded Jack.
I heard his retreating footsteps and had an idea. As I heard him get closer I threw open the door. He went barging through and disappeared out of my line of sight.
"Poppy I've been expecting you for a while now"
I screamed. I didn't now what else to do! What would you do if you saw a ghost who knew your name? I recognised him but I didn't know where from.
"Hello, sorry to be impolite. My name is Cedric", whispered Cedric, "Your little friend who has just entered has an older brother who was there on the night I was MUDERED and didn't do anything to prevent it from happening."
His voice was the last thing I heard before I surrendered into the Darkness.
When I next woke up I was in an unfamiliar room a bit like the first. I turned around in an old battered bed with moth eaten blankets, still half a sleep. He was there, the ghost boy. What did he want from me? Wasn't it Jack he should be chasing after freaking him out instead? Something clicked in my head.
"I should," he replied, "but there is something I have been meaning to tell you for a while are that a few people had a little crush on you including me.
"Who are the others that had a crush on me?" I demanded.
"...why Jack and his Brother of course."
"Is this kind of a sick joke?"
"I wish..."
And for the second time today darkness consumed me.
"Ahh Hell!!"
