I open my eyes to Mirai and Amari bouncing around on their seat, "both of you sit." They stop jumping as the intercom goes off and we're told to buckle in for we are about to land. "Come on, we're almost there." I buckle them.

It takes an hour to arrive at the pack house, when I do there's a man telling Alex he'll help where he's needed, "that won't be necessary, but thank you for your help and we will owe you one." I speak up as I walk into the office, "Amoura!" He looks at me, "you are?"

"Amoura Stone the oldest daughter of the Stone Alpha's. You can go now. Tell your Alpha thank you and we will owe him one." He growls, "you're mad that I know you're not the Alpha?" I ask, "I am the Alpha's son," I give him a look, "that still doesn't make you the Alpha so go and tell him what I told you." I point the exit for him.

"Amoura," Beta Alex looks at me, "this pack deserves more than a stranger, but for now I'm going to have to be enough," he nods and hands me the paperwork, "we're handing in the paperwork to city hall to get death records of all the pack members that died. We've also set a private funeral at Morgans Funeral home as a cover on the books. We'll be setting up the pyres tonight." I nod as I look at the papers, "that's everything." I hand the papers back to him. "Has the territory been swept?" I ask him, "almost, we're starting with the north and east and going from there."

"Alright," I turn to leave, "Amoura!" I stop and look at him, "it's good to have you back." He gives me a small smile, "not everyone will agree with you on that," he shrugs, "you're the Alpha what can they do?" I smile and walk out.

I head down to the basement and make my way to the morgue, "Amoura!" I turn and see Jamie the pack doctor, "are they in here?" She nods and walks me in, she pulls out their bodies and uncovers them, "they've had their hearts torn out," I comment as I stare at the gaping holes in their chests, "no Hunter can do that." Jamie comments as she covers them back up, "the hunters weren't alone."

"Or they were covers, whoever sent them was trying to hide the fact that my parents were the main targets," I mutter as I push them back in. "Why do this then? If they wanted to blend in? Why do this?"

"Because their rage got the better of them. Notice how there's no scent on them," I walk out and head back upstairs.

An older man stood in the foyer with the man who was here earlier,  "can I help you?" I ask the man standing in the foyer, "are you the woman who offended my son?" I sigh.

"Is he the one who got offended because I knew he wasn't the Alpha?' Is he so small that he ran to you and cried" I ask as I turn my gaze to the man who was here earlier, "Look you-" a growl stops him, "watch it Cas," the man who was walking through the front door speaks up.

I curse as my eyes meet his, he smiles at me, Standing in the foyer is all 6'5, brown messy hair, with a 5'o'clock shadow, piercing grey eyes, broad shoulders, muscular body, mate. His smile wides as he mutters the one word that could ruin my mood. "Mate."

He looks like someone you'd see in a magazine. He smiled softly at me as if a full smile would break me. I just stare at him. He really is gorgeous. Yet he's not appealing to me, not the way Heminsworth was nor in the way Clive stood out to me and made me want him despite not knowing anything about him. "Look Alpha I told your son to tell you we were grateful for the help and that we owe you one. I also mentioned we don't need his help in running the pack, that's why I'm here."

"We're neighbors, hunters are our enemies too, its beneficial to everyone if they were eliminated so we helped." I nod before excusing my self, "wait! You're my mate and that's all?" I stop, "my parents are dead, this pack is in shambles, and my siblings are orphans there's not much of me left to give." I walk away. "Chandler wait! She's right, you need to give her time, this is a lot. You have your whole lives to get to know one another. Come on let's go. Castiel get over your ego, don't you ever pull this crap again." I make my way to the study and sit down as I ask Mark to fill me in on everything that happened during the attack.

"Amoura!" My aunt Wendy bolts into the room, "you're here," she smiles in approval, "you belong there." I disagree, "my dad belongs here. Not me." Sadness fills her, "this isn't on you."

"It is. I could have stopped it. If I was here I could have stopped it. But I was so busy-" she cuts me off, "grieving. You were grieving Amoura." She walks in, "and now I grieve again." I wipe the tears that escape. "It's okay Amoura."

"No, it's not. I need to help the pack, I need to do this." She looks at me heartbroken, "so who helps you?" She asks, "I have to do this, for them. This is the least I can do." We stare at one another, I cover my mouth, "my parents are dead Aunt Wendy." She nods as the tears break free.

"They're dead." The door closes as Aunt Wendy and I hug. I cry in her arms, "they're all dead." She squeezes me, I'm so sorry Amoura."

The swings open as I turn around and wipe the tears, Aunt Wendy does the same, "Sara! When did you get here?" Aunt Wendy asks, Sara ignores her and walks up to the desk, "so it's true, you're back and in charge." I turn and look at her, "yes."

"You have no right to stand as Alpha, you disappeared on everyone for a year." Sara spits out and Aunt Wendy defends me, "he wasn't even your mate."

"So what? Can't I feel the loss? Does that mean you don't feel the loss of the pack members who died?" I ask, "yes!" She doesn't hesitate, "why they're not your mate?" I repeat her words, she stutters, "now do you realize how stupid you sound? There's more to life than a destined bond." I walk around you before pausing, "oh and if you ever give that look to my daughters - and this goes to everyone - I will kill you." Sara huffs thinking mg threat is empty, "I'm not kidding Sara."

"I'm your sister!" She yells in anger, "I don't give a damn who you are. They are my daughters, I will not let them see those looks." I comment as I stare her down, "so if your mate gave them that look-" I cut her off, "my mate can go to hell. Correction I'll send him to hell myself if he looks at them like that."

I walk to the clearing where the pyres were being set up, I watch for a while before going back inside to get a glass of wine.
