Chapter 2

   Jacob finally called Vanessa back the next morning. She was still pretty ticked off at Jacob. He understood why she kept that secret from him. She didn't want to feel lonely. He promised her that he would stay with her instead of going to MIT, but she had another secret to tell. He met her at Mangia again for breakfast. She told him about the promise she made with her mother. She had promised her mother that she would be a foreign exchange student in Germany if she didn't get into MIT, which she didn't. Jacob was shocked once again at Vanessa. He was growing tired of the charades and secrets. She would be leaving in July, which gave them 2 months together before she's gone. Jacob was heartbroken, but happy for her at the same time. Day 1 started in a heartbeat, Jacob took Vanessa to the mall so she could have a good wardrobe before Germany.  After the mall , Jacob and Vanessa stayed at a 5 star hotel. They stayed there in order to get to the amusement park without the long lines. Jacob spent over $2,000 for Vanessa to have a good time in Germany. Vanessa didn't know how long she would be gone, so she made no promises at all. She just wanted her fun love to have and hold before she left. She was speechless at the end of the day. Jacob had to spend some time with Jacoby also. He had a big summer league basketball game. Jacoby was really good at basketball. He could dribble a ball better than his coach. He had a good shot, also. Jacoby's basketball team won 4 back-to-back games. Jacob was always there to support his kid brother, it's his family code. While overjoyed by Jacoby's success, Jacob was still very sad deep down. Vanessa wasn't going to change her mind about Germany. Jacob couldn't do anything about it.
