Oh.my.GOD.! I'm late for school! AGAIN! For the tenth time I'm going to get suspended if I don't get to homeroom on time!
"Jidenna!" "Come on hurry up honey your going to be late for school!" My mother says.
"I'm coming let me put on my shoes."
When I finally get downstairs I don't even have Tim to put my poptart in the toaster so I have to eat it raw eventhough I prefer it that way some times. So here is my route to get to elmanrary middleschool the number one middleschool in las vegas. So first I go through the strip passing all the street performer's,then I dance a little with the go-go girls(if I have time). Then I take the 142 bus to Henderson street and then, I'm at school running through the hallways only stopping to see my best friend Chandler and walk with him to class.
"Jidenna,wait up!" Says Chandler out of breath. Chandler was 12 years old, tall, short black hair, with freckles around his nose.
"Oh hey sorry I didn't see you there." I say just as out of breath. "Come on,let's get to class!"
In class the usual happens me and Chandler pass notes about how boring the class is, until the principal announced something strange on the intercom. He says. "Attention boys and girls the news just announced there is some strange disease going around outside, and people are going crazy so its best that we remain in our class rooms and if your out in the hall report to the office immediately! We are having a hard lock down! I repeat we are having a hard lock down! Parents have been alerted........." After that the system goes down. Everyone is worried! People are trying to call their parents but all the electricity is out!
The teacher finally gets everyone's attention "everybody please settle down we are going to report to the lunch room, all of you are going to need to help out the army is coming to bring us supplies."
Finally, while we are in the lunch room for about 5 hours the army comes and the explain to us what was happening. Apparently there is a zombie out break and everyone has inhaled the disease so its already in everybody's system. Then they showed us a video of what was going on outside. That's when I totally shut down! In the corner there was a zombie in the video and it was my mother and then I hear a gunshot and the zombie drops straight to the ground all it took was one bullet to her head and then she was just....gone! "Mom!?" I say trembling as a tear rolls down my face.
Chandler gives me a hug , everyone is staring at me but I don't care I start sobbing in a corner into my backpack I don't even pay attention to what they are saying anymore. I take a short nap when I wake up I wake up to a bunch of food and weapons kids are in a circle surrounding it, the general of the army comes over and says "get in a line children!" I see chandler and he let's me cut him which made me second in line to choose my weapons. I chose a katauna and a pistol. I was pretty sure how to use the katauna but I have never shot a gun before but chandler taught me when we had shooting practice right after we got our weapons.
