I look down at my rifle. The barrel facing up, but not directly in my face. The black metal glistened from the dim red light. My butt hurt from sitting in this helicopter for so long.

My partner elbows me, splitting through my thoughts. I glanced up. "Ready Cole?" McGregor aksed

I nod. Truth is, I was ready. Ready to shoot the man who killed half my nation. Who caused so much pain and suffering to half the entire population.

"ETA five minutes, get ready boys" the intercom mumbled.

I click in my magazine and cock my gun. I was ready.

The helicopter set down soon after. Landing with a rather hard thud, I guessed they probably knew we were coming. The ramp slowly set down as McGregor and I raised our weapons. I scanned the roof with my finger on the trigger. Just like the training. I thought. Slow steps. Count to three and then step. My eyes darted where a shadow ran. I quickly swung my gun over and looked down the sights. All hostiles must be eliminated. The man raised his gun. Before he could do anything I pulled my trigger. One shot, heart. Two shots, left ribs. Third shot, head. He fell to the floor bleeding. I scanned the remaining part of my side of the roof. I radioed over to McGregor and we met by the door leading down to the building.

He nodded to me as he kicked open the door. He ran in with his gun raised and I followed. The first set of stairs were clear. "I'll take lead" I said before going down the next set. I raised my gun and walked down the steps. Two soldiers were waiting with their backs turned to us. I raised my hand and motioned for McGregor to stop. I pulled out my silencer and twisted it onto the barrel of my rifle. I looked down the sights. I whistled to catch their attention. As they spun, I shot twice. The bodies hit the ground unnaturally. I stepped over them and went down the next set of stairs.

We went down four more flights with no trouble. We reached the third floor and McGregor stopped us. "This is our stop. Stack up against the door"

I nodded and readied myself beside the door. McGregor was about to kick open the door when I heard a muffled "Now!" As soon as I caught on, the door was shredded with bullets. McGregor fell, covered in his own blood.

When the shooting stopped I dragged McGregor out of the doorway. I set him up against the wall and peaked my head into the room. There stood a minigun manned by a person and two other people.

I squatted down next to McGregor, "I'll make this right."

He groaned and I got back into position. I blind shot a few times hoping to make them run to cover. I peaked my head out again and saw my plan had worked. I ran into the room and found cover behind a large crate.

The room was filled with crates similar to a maze. I ran through, rifle ready. One of the three men ran at me with a knife. As quick as I could, I shot him in the knee. He fell with a loud yelp. I found myself pissed, so I was gonna take it out on this man. I aimed at his lower back and pulled the trigger. He screamed again. I shot another round in between his shoulders and finished with a headshot.

I scanned the room more. Searching behind crates, trying to find these last two guys. A round zipped past me and lodged itself into the wall. I turned to see a pistol pointed at me. I hit the closest cover and waited. I knew this was too close for my rifle, so I set it beside me. The shooter slowly walked in front of me, unaware of my presence. I grabbed his arm and pulled the gun underneath his chin. I quickly made him the pull the trigger and held onto the gun as he slumped to the floor.

I picked up my rifle and pointed my new pistol in front of me.

I found the minigun next. Well I didn't find it. But when 300 bullets destroyed the crate in front of me, I kinda knew that wasn't the wind.

This was gonna be some tough shit. But oh did I have an idea. I looked down at the two grenades on my belt. For the first time, I smiled a little.

I pulled the pin on my grenade and threw it out near the minigun. I heard the gasp right before the whole room shook from the explosion.

I was almost done with this mission. Just gotta kill the fucker who took my family away.

I walked towards the other set of doors in the room. I went ahead and left my rifle because it was gonna be close quarters now. With my pistol in one hand, and my grenade in the other, I knocked on the door.

I know what you're thinking, "knocking on the door?!?" Well folks it's called common courtesy.

I was greeted with two large men who I then shot. I stepped over their bodies and walked further into the office.

"Mr. Cole! What a pleasure! How's the family? I mean. Too soon?" The remark was followed by laughing. Oh this guy was gonna get it.

He stood up in front of his window. Before he could speak, I shot his leg. He yelled and leaned against his window, clutching his bleeding knee "Relax, it's just a flesh wound. But before you do get to the 'telling of the whole master plan' part could you hold this?" I pulled the pin on my grenade and tossed him it. He caught it with his free hand. "Nice catch." He grinned before he realized what is was. His eyes grew large as I shot the window behind him, causing him to fall. Three seconds later I hear the grenade go off. I walked to the window and looked down. "Yeah it was too soon, asshole."
