Skye POV

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

What was that? I questioned myself as I peel my eyes off the computer screen, looking to see where the unknown buzzing had come from.

I look to my left and didn't see anything unusual. I heaved a sigh and looked around for another second before giving up on my small quest and turn back to my essay that was due soon.

Ugh, I thought. I really don't want to be doing this right now.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

I heard the noise again. This is really going to bug me if I don't find out where this is coming from, I thought as I threw a glance over to my right, plus, anything to distract me from this essay. When I turned my head too look at the table behind me, I saw an iPhone, sitting there, abandoned. It was just resting there, unnoticed by all the occupants of the school library.

I smiled deviously, then proceeded to look around me to make sure the phone didn't belong to anyone near the computer. I felt like one of those super sneaky spies in a super sneaky spy movie, and  once I saw the coast was clear, I dove for the phone.

My thigh crashed into the neighboring chair, making me wince as it made a large bang. I scoped around to see if anyone turned to look, and just my luck, about five people had spun my way. I blushed as they looked at me in curiosity.

Let me just say one word.

Awk-ward.

I was extremely tempted to whistle my way out of this situation. I could just start randomly whistling and just like in the old movies, everyone would turn back to whatever it was that they were doing. However, I knew from past experiences that that was probably not the wisest decision, especially since we are in a library. Because, you know, librarys and loud noises don't really mix.

I waited a minute or two before those five people lost their interest and turned back to their own screens before snatching up the phone. I look at the screen to see a hot dude for the phones wallpaper, and realized that this phone must be some girl's phone. I slide my finger across to the right and the phone whooshes to the home screen without any complications, no lock, i realized. The screen was filled with useless apps, and different hot guy for the inside wallpaper. I continued to closely inspect the phone, before realizing the buzzing had occurred because this person had two unread messages.

I opened the iMessage app and waited for it to load and once it did I noticed that the two texts were from the same person. The contact read Hunter and my mind automatically went to the attractive football player in my all grades computer class, who happened to be single at the moment, having just broken up with his girlfriend.

I looked around again, just to make sure that this wasn't anyone’s phone from my general area.

It wasn't.

I smiled. This is my favorite thing to do and this new phone number provided me with fresh meat. I always did this with my best friend, Riley. We would get a hold of a phone number, and then continue to text them anonymously. They wouldn't know who it is, and we wouldn't tell them. To keep it interesting we'd turn it into a game, giving the person a few hints here and there to keep them engaged. It worked every time.

I took the phone number from this person’s phone and entered it into my own, double checking to make sure I typed it in correctly. Then, saving the work on my computer and logging off, I took the, I am assuming girl's, phone with me, and headed to the checkout area.

"Hello." I smiled at the librarian. She was a cute old lady that was kind to everyone. I knew her from the hours that I spent in the school library looking at interesting books for a future reading reference. I had a long book list that was just waiting to be read.
