His body is a canvas, splashed in the colour blue
Known as the destroyer, yet so beautiful
Covered in tiger skin, snakes and holding a trident
Cruel to sinners and towards the good, merciful
Such passionate fire burning slowly in his eyes
Guiding lost souls, demons and people who adore him
One among the three rulers of the world, so wise
Yet naughty as he tries to tease devotees on a whim
He has poison in his throat but not in his soul or heart
Such lovely tangled, matted hair holding the Ganges river
Away from him no one can stay, not a second apart
Sharing half his body with his wife, such an adorable lover
Oozing such charisma, confidence, so very magnificent
Enchanting even as he flies into extreme rage and anger
Mesmerizing as he dances, moves, emotions fully exposed
Yet nothing to be worried about, for us, nothing to fear
Serpents glide smoothly along his body as ornaments
Decorating whatever he adorns, such heartfelt happiness
He can whisk you away from your life, enveloping you
So graceful he can protect you from evils and loneliness
The pale white crescent moon and glowing star on his forehead
Drawn towards him like a moth towards a flame
Contrasting pearl white milky teeth, sight that's kind and cruel
Yet we adore, admire, praise him in devotion and utter his name
