Chapter Four ~ Are You Alright?

(Eren's P.O.V.) (I know! It's not Levi for once!)

I walked through the halls and frowned when I saw the Corporal's door, he was upset last night and I...didn't help as much as I should've.

I walked over and knocked on his door, I heard a low mumble from the other side and slowly opened the door. Once I did, a knife landed beside the door, I took a step forward cautiously; Levi was sitting up in his bed, he didn't look pissed like I thought he would. He just looked like he had a shit night. It reminded me I had fallen asleep outside of his door and had gone to get clean and grab food for myself.

"Are you feeling any better Corporal?" I asked.

"I'm fine Jeager. Get out." Levi said, rubbing his eyes like a small child would.

"...S-sorry Corporal but..." I trailed a little, I wasn't so sure If this was a good idea anymore. "..You ordered me to stay here....basically, watch you for a bit..." I twisted what Heichou had said a little, but he really looked like It would be better if I were here.

Levi ran a hand through his jet black hair, and he nodded slowly and then asked me to get out so he could get dressed; then we could talk.

I waited for him and he let me in a few minutes after.

"So...why do you want to talk to me Eren?" Levi asked shutting his door as I cautiously walked through.

"I don't mean to intrude on your privacy Corporal...but...what exactly where you crying about last night? Talking a-about it can help the pain ease." I explained, he gave me a short glare before running a hand through his hair again. He was clearly stressed.

"Fine..." Levi sighed and kept his composure as he opened his mouth to explain.

"When I was first recruited for the Survey Corps I was a thug from the underground with my friends Isabel and Furlan, they were practically brother and sister to me." I nodded and swallowed.

"On our first mission we had to steal something from Erwin, turns out he already knew of it and got them killed...by the you-know-whats. Then, you'll know that my squad died." Levi spat out the last words harshly, he meant no disrespect he was just moody from all the late night crying.

"That was what made me...cry. It brought back those horrible memories and twisted my dreams into nightmares..." Levi looked over to me.

"You happy now brat?" He asked, his face deadpanned but his features were soft and wary.

"No." I stated confidently, confusion flashed on his face and I hugged him. Usually he would retaliate but he made no attempt to, nor did he attempt to hug me back. It was slightly awkward but I pulled away and held his shoulders.

"W-well Corporal, I-I am here for you...trust me okay?" I stuttered slightly, Levi looked at me with apologetic eyes and gave a slight nod before looking at the floor.

I then pulled him into a hug and he started to push away. He eventually let me hug him and relaxed.
