Kiefer's POV
“Von, uy, kinakabahan ako. I don’t think I’d be able to do this.” I say in front of the mirror while fixing my shirt.
“Kiefer, do you know how gay you sound right now? You’re going on a date. It’s not like you’re getting married.” Von says amusingly while using his phone on my bed.
What can I do? I tend to panic when beautiful girls are involved.
“You’re right. Unang date palang ‘to. Pano pa yung mga susunod?”
“EXCUSE ME RAVENA did I just hear you correctly? MAY SUSUNOD PA? Woooow Mr. Pogi, what makes you so sure?”
“Because… well because I could feel it.” “She’s not like any other girl I’ve liked before. She’s prettier than the rest, and definitely more humble.”
“Whatever you say lover boy.” Von is not making anything easier.
“Hay bahala na can we just go now?” I say as I grab my car key.
I dropped by the flower shop near my house. I thought the flowers were too advanced in this stage of our ‘acquaintanceship’ but Von, being the love expert he is, told me not to go empty handed. I didn’t do my research so I didn’t know what kind of flowers she liked. Oh well I hope she likes roses!
It’s so traffic. I’d kill myself if Mika had to wait for me. It’s 5:30 already and our usapan was at 6.
“Tsk tsk. Proper guys should never let girls wait.” Von says as if he read my mind.
The only thing noisy in the car was the radio, other than that, no one made a sound.
Ten minutes have passed by and thank God we were near Serendra already.
“Von, what is up with you today? You’re words are discouraging, man! Thanks for the help!”
“Kief, I’m just being honest. Next time kasi be more prepared. You wouldn’t want to lose a girl like Mika.”
“Yeah ok… buti pa kapag may next time. Eh pano kung wala na, just like you predicted?”
“Paps I wasn’t being serious. It was just to ease your nerves kanina. Now be a man and make me proud!” Von pushes me out of the car and takes the driver’s seat. He mentions something about him being back by 9… or was that 8?
Ugh Mika why do you have this effect on me?! I’ve never been nervous around girls before!
I leave all my nervousness behind as I walk to Krispy Kreme. As I begin to walk, I noticed that everyone was staring. Was there something wrong with my face?! Oh, maybe because I’m bringing an enormous bouquet without a girl in sight to give it to.
