a/n: Hey guys! I'm sorry... I kind of abandoned my other book because I started to get sick of my own ideas :/ I'm hoping to start afresh with this one, and maybe actually stick with it till the end.

I got the idea to write this from my friend Julia. She had an assignment in German class to write an email to her friend telling her that she has fallen in love. She asked me for help with it, so I quickly spun out an email...

and that became the rough draft for this. :)

ENJOY!

Dear Cat,

Hey there. How've you been? I've been well.

I know it's been a few months since we talked, but something happened to me recently that I think you would want to know. I'm just going to come right out and say it.

I met someone.

He's pretty great.

We met a while back at the university café where he works. It was a hectic first week at NYU and I brought my laptop to do my work at the café. I started coming here regularly and we became friends. We still are, but I'm afraid I'm starting to fall for him.

The name's Nate. He's half-Korean, which I'm sure you'd be glad to hear. He's been here for two years, studying for his engineering degree while working part-time to pay his rent. He has good hair (you know I dig that quiff) and is well-dressed. He's extremely intelligent, and we have a lot in common. I think you would like him.

We've hung out a lot (mostly watching horror films at his apartment with a few mutual friends or just talking at his café between his shifts). Sometimes I feel like he might have feelings for me, but I don't know for sure. How can I know? What should I do now? Please give me advice. Between us, you've always been the boy-smart one. I'd really like your help now because this whole situation with him is driving me crazy.

Write back soon!!!

Love always,

Julia

P.S. Sorry for not telling you earlier.

P.P.S. Please don't kill me when we meet over break. I will buy a full-body armor just in case.
